Aurora has been splitting her time between her apartment and the Kashtta, occasionally going out into the street to patrol but not every night the way she used to. She's become a familiar face at the Tower, passing through the halls, studying the place with mild curiosity ( Read more... )

And, suddenly there is an Uchiko-chan sitting next to Aurora. ::Hihi, Rora-chan!:: she says with her usual enthusiasm, before she notices something different about Aurora's mood and toning it down. ::You seem kinda sad. Doushita no? Why is that? Mio-mama's been sad too lately but she's been trying to hide it from me.::

Aurora barely blinks as Uchicko-chan appears, her concentration on the ball of energy, making it shrink and grown. It's not very challenging at all but it's just enough to keep her attention elsewhere.

But there is someone trying to get her attention ans she sighs, letting the ball dissolve into nothing before turning to the girl and smiling a little. ::We miss Iris.:: She sees no reason to lie, not to her, though she does understand keeping the details to herself. If Mio hasn't elaborated on things Aurora isn't sure it's her place to tell her everything.

::Oh. Did she go away? When Mii-chama went away and didn't come back because she got stuck on this side of the Rift I was sad for a long time, but then I found her again and I was happy.:: Uchiko-chan....doesn't really understand the concept of death all that well. Or at all, really. Aurora may have a bit of a hard time explaining this all to her.

::That thing you were doing with the ball of light was really pretty too. I liked it!::

::She did. Except we probably won't see her again. It's rare to see someone come back from where she went.: She doesn't need to explain death as long as she gets the general concepts across and she's worked with sentient spaces before.

She smiles faintly, and calls the ball up again. It's warm between her hands and this time she makes the colors shift and change.

Wandering in Chicago at night is usually not a wise idea for an average resident, let alone a Wanderer, but Bela at least has a reason to be out. She's just stolen something that no one is really supposed to have, and has a hefty pay day in her future. Right now, she happens to be enjoying her long stroll home. It's not as if she's unprotected.

If anyone tries to get in her way or otherwise harm her, she could always light them on fire.

When she spots Neal, however, she can't help the small smile that crosses her face. "You know, you shouldn't wander in Chicago at night. Tends to get most people into trouble."

he's gotten the warning about going out into the city late at night but that's obviously not stopping. he took the warnings as if they were the same ones you give to people when they're in new york. Granted, he'll admit that it does become a little more dangerous with the whole Rift thing and the fact that he's not on his home ground but he's always been one for taking chances.

"So I've heard," he says with a grin. "But I'm pretty good at getting myself out of trouble. Besides, where there's a little risk, there's always a little fun too."

"This place is riskier than most," she replies, coming to a stop in front of him and crossing her arms in front of her chest. "Though you seem to be handling your transition to Chicago rather well, all things considered."

"I've heard," he says with a laugh. "But I've always been a sucker for high stakes." Shrugging, he leans back against a wall. "I try. There's not much point in freaking out is there? It's not like it's going to make anything better."

Damon is on his way down the stairs. He has his leather jacket on that he likely stole from... someone. The point is that he didn't kill anyone to steal that jacket. Moving on up in the moral ladder here sort of. Maybe.

He slides around Aurora with the ease and grace that being a vampire allows him, and he settles on his feet at the bottom of the stairs. Damon looks over at her, raising an eyebrow in her direction with that charming, cocky, sarcastic look of his.

"Is that a magic ball in your hands or are you just happy to see me?"

her eyes are fixated on the ball,, even as Damon settles at her feet. She doesn't lose her concentration as she makes it grow.

"Happy to see you," she deadpans, finally peering at him around the ball. "The magical ball is just a byproduct. I can't keep in the joy."

"That's exactly what I thought. Who isn't so happy to see me that magical balls spontaneously appear as a result of their joy?"

The narration has a list of people who are never happy to see you, Damon. It's a long, long list, and if dead people were included on it (like all the ones you have killed), it would be even longer.

"What do you do with a joy filled ball like that?"

She smirks a little and lets her hands fall away from the ball so that the ball simply hovers in front of her freely. Then it proceeds to move towards the wall, not even stopping when it hits the surface. Instead it burns a hole clean through, leaving only the tiniest of scorch marks on the edges.

"There are other things you could do as well," she says with a shrug, willing the little ball of energy back to her. "But I find that to be one of the more useful things."

I HAD TO. starryeyed_cass May 7 2011, 01:24:59 UTC
Carrying a small box of various glitters, sequins, coloured cards and various other shiny and pretty things comes a Cassie. She's been busy, keeping her mind off things by working on her photo album. She's decorating the pages like a scrap book and placing the few precious photos she has of Iris and Robin. She doesn't have any of Daniel... but she tries not think about that.

She turns and begins to skip down the steps, covered in glitter. It's in her hair, on her hands, her clothes - there's even a smear across her nose. There's probably more on her than there is on the book waiting for her in the cafeteria.

Cassie frowns as soon as she sees Spencer and the awkwardness of how he's moving down the stairs. She pulls out her headphones, "Spence..?" her face falls as soon as she sees him shaking, "... What's wrong?"

Spencer hates his LIFE right now. wordoftheroses May 7 2011, 01:40:17 UTC
Spencer hears someone coming and he freezes, not entirely sure what to do. He should turn around and avoid them but his legs are paralyzed while his mind sorts out the options.

Then Cassie turns the corner and sees him and all he wants to do is just turn around and run. She really doesn't need this right now, he doens't need this right now but considering this is the end result of his own choices, he can't get away from that.

"Hi,," he says, forcing a smile onto his face. "I'm fine, really. I just haven't eaten very much today."

Bawwwwwwwwwww. Sorry, Spencer. starryeyed_cass May 7 2011, 01:55:21 UTC
Cassie is just going to stare at you, Spencer. Living as a student in London has taught her quite a few things. She's seen desperately hungry flatmates before. And he doesn't look just hungry. She's not going to be fooled too easily.

"You look sick, not hungry," she says worriedly, "Have you thrown up or something?"

She reaches up, pressing the back of her hand against his forehead, trying to feel for a fever. "You're shaking like mad,"

Yeah, he does not believe in your apologies. wordoftheroses May 7 2011, 02:48:56 UTC
He considers what she says for a moment and sighs. "Yeah," he admits. "I'm prob ably coming down with something."

The hand against his skin makes him stiffen. He knows that he's starting to run a fever but it could be worse. It's not as if he's doing this cold turkey he's trying to ease himself out of things but it's still taking a toll all the same.

"I just wanted to get something to eat,," he tries. "And then I was going to go back to my room. I don't want to get anyone sick."

In spite of how many times Shawn has told Anna that she's stuck here in Chicago until the Rift decides she can go home (or die), Anna keeps trying to find a way out. Because logically? There has to be some way out. Transdimensional rifts are science fiction; crackpot theories from astrophysicists with too much time on their hands who have watched a few too many episodes of The Twilight Zone.

And, as per usual, nothing turns up. In her frustration, Anna rounds the corner into an alley and -- not looking where she's going -- collides with Neal in an ungraceful move that would make her pride blush.

His hands go out immediately to steady her, just in case it looks like she might fall. Once it seems everyone's got their footing back, he lets them small away, replaced with a smile instead.

"Are you all right," he questions, just in case. After all, it's late at night and she's coming out from an alley,,,, it's a fairly practical question.

SO sorry it took me so long! ;o; buticlosemyeyes May 21 2011, 01:33:19 UTC
In an attempt to salvage her pride (well, what's left of it, anyway) Anna tries to steady herself, hands landing atop Neal's while she regains her balance.

Stepping back once she's steady, and noticing his smile, she clears her throat awkwardly to keep herself from staring. Because the man is clearly gorgeous and well, she'd be blind not to notice.

"Huh? Uh, yeah, I'm uh, fine. Sorry, you alright?"

"Oh, I'm fine, don't worry about it." His smile turns reassuring. "Considering what could have come out of that alley, I'm not going to complain."

Which is completely true. Walking around alone at this hour is probably not the smartest thing that could be done but he wanted to get out and he's not intimidated by cities.
