There’s a new demon in Chicago. Not that new, though. He’s been here before - a life time ago. This was where his father once lived, where he’d spent his late teens and early twenties before he’d grown tired of the place and moved on. As much as he liked Chicago, there was just nothing here to interest him. Nothing until now ( Read more... )

Luckily enough for Trin - Rufus isn't like most other Behemoths. As selfish and childish as he can be, he strives to be different from others of their kind. In his old age (although, the narration adds he will never say that himself. He is young and beautiful, dammit - anyway), Rufus has learned that being aggressive and not keeping the peace is one way ticket to getting yourself killed.

He's learned to be a peaceful demon and tries not to be ruled by his Calling. If that means sharing a meal, then so be it. If it's helped him live this long, he doesn't intend to stop now.

Rufus watches her in amusement before returning to his own share. It doesn't take him long to finish and afterwards, he's sat licking the blood from his paws. He is a giant kitty, after all. He likes to be clean. He looks up at the bark and slowly rises to his feet. He reaches forward, gently nips the back of her neck and roars back a 'You're welcome' in reply. Well. If he could talk right now, he would ask her to be his groupie. No, really. He seriously would. He needs fans here in Chicago.

And with that, he returns to the woods to change form. He's not totally settled with staying in this form for too long in a new city when he doesn't know how much it's changed in forty years. But he comes back a some five minutes later, shrugging on his jacket and grinning. "Well, aren't you the most adorable thing ever!"

Trin rolls over at the nip, her paws resting in the air as all three of her heads try to get a good look at him. If he asked, she would probably say yes--almost definitely, actually, because 'groupie' is a role Trin was built to fulfill.

She wriggles back onto her tummy and lowers her heads to the ground as he walks away, and it occurs to her, in her tiny little brains, that he may not ever be coming back. Wouldn't be the fist time she was abandoned, nor would it be the last. Still kind of hurts, though, even if the extent of their 'relationship' was him giving her some food.

But then he comes back! She gets up and blunders on over to him, her middle head slobbering over everything in excitement and happiness while her right head barks. Most people don't go for 'adorable' when she's in her monster form, not even other behemoths, so that's a nice change.

Awww, don't be sad Trin. Rufus wouldn't just up and leave you. That wouldn't be very nice of him. He hates to leave a bad impression - especially with a fellow Behemoth.

He's cringes just a little at the slobbering puppy-head. He'd rather not get any of that on his clothes. He's way too vain sometimes, "Easy there, this shirt cost a bomb," he tells her with a grin. "Cleaning off drool is a bitch, y'know?" As is blood. But y'know.

Rufus reaches forward and scritches each puppy's ear. "How you doin', then cutie?" he says, "Happy you got some chow - huh?"

Trin doesn't really understand, per se, but she can go along with it. The slobbery head licks its lips, at least, so that clears up that problem, at least momentarily.

She basically flops to the ground as he scritches her, though, because this, more than any crazy party or any wonderful night in bed with a man who adores her, is heaven in a nutshell. With a tummy full of deer meat and someone to scritch her.

Happy, yes. So happy right now. She rolls over in the dirt, smiling, the tongue on one of her heads lolling out of her mouth. Sooooooooo happy.

So happy that she turns back into a girl, so now there's a totally naked girl laying on her back in the dirt, looking up at you happily, Rufus. Her clothes are somewhere in a bush back the way she came. Sorry about that.

Rufus puts his hands on his hips and laughs as she rolls onto her back. This is just way too adorable and amusing for words. He thinks he's going to like Chicago again. When he was here all those decades ago - it got boring. But now it definitely feels like he can have fun here.

He raises an eyebrow as the dogbeast disappears and he's left with a very cute and very naked girl instead. He takes a moment to admire this, because he's a little bit of a hobag. The narration facepalms so hard.

"Hey there, sweetie," he says warmly with a small chuckle, finally looking back at her face. Yes, thank you Rufus. He offers her a hand up. "Not so much in control of the switch, huh?"

Trin doesn't mind being looked at at all--it makes her feel appreciated. She's comfortable being looked at, even by a guy she's just met. He's a nice guy, she knows that much, so it's even less of a deal.

"Hi," she says when he looks back at her face. She accepts his hand and hauls herself to her feet. "It's something I'm working on, I guess." She bites her lip and then focuses on not falling over. There's a switch between being on four legs to being on two, and Trin's not so hot at it sometimes.

"I left my clothes over there," she gestures. "I could go get them." There's a pause, and then she just goes for it. "If you want."

The narration is facepalming so hard right now.

Rufus smiles as he helps her back onto her feet. He watches her for a moment as she tries to steady herself. He used to have that same problem many, many years ago. With a laugh, he lightly shrugs his shoulders, "Ah, it's all about practice makes perfect," he tells her, "You'll get the hang of it in the end,"

He pauses for a moment, raising an eyebrow and his jaw slackens slightly. Well, damn. He is good. Stepping closer to her, tilting his head to the side. "Now that sounds mighty tempting, sweetie," he says in a lowered, charming voice, "Because you are a pretty little thing, clearly,"

Licking at his lips, he chuckles. Nope, he's going to be somewhat a gentleman today, because he feels like it. "But it's still pretty cold out and I'd hate for you to get chilly," he sighs, almost sadly and pouts a little, "How about I help you find them, hmmm?"

Trin shrugs, a smile on her face. "Sometimes it comes in handy, not having to even think. In danger, and stuff."

She blushes madly, and looks at her bare feet. That's almost too much--not the fact that he's talking to her like that, but the fact that he's so complimentary. Most men don't compliment her. They just tell her to lie still, or to stop smiling so big. But this. He's so nice. Trin's not used to other demons being so nice.

"That'd be good too," she says, because it is pretty chilly, and goose bumps are NOT attractive, not even when you're fucking in the park. "I just left them behind this bush over here." And essentially without thinking, she turns around.

Have a nice view of her bare naked ass, Rufus. She's going to get her clothes on now.

Rufus considers this for a moment. He's always been more towards making sure you can think in danger - it usually helps him avoid dying. But then again, he's not really been in that much danger before.

There's a slight smug look on his face as she blushes. He's feeling extremely pleased with himself right now. Also, the narration would like to add that Rufus would be absolutely shocked and very unhappy to know that. Men shouldn't say such things to pretty girls, and there's certainly nothing wrong with smiling. People should be happy!

He nods, "Excellent," he says with a charming smile, "Then I believe I should introduce myself when you're properly clothed," Because, how rude of him, he hasn't done so yet.

... And, he's going to admire than view. Yes, he admire that view very much.

The narration headdesks forever.

Trin barely hears him, because she's walking to her clothes. Which she then puts on, as one does with clothes when one is already naked. It's difficult to take off clothes if you're not wearing them.

But she's not gone very long, and when she comes back she's wearing tight blue jeans and a revealing green top under a red jacket-sweater-thing. She flashes Rufus a big smile. "There!" she says. "I'm much warmer now. Thanks." For... letting her get dressed, apparently. The narration barely knows.

Rufus waits patiently as she changes, shoving his hands into his trouser pockets and humming . He sops and grins brightly when she returns. And he’s going to check her out a little more. Stop it, Rufus you hobag.

“Well, I wouldn’t want you to get cold. It’s hardly the weather for streaking just yet. Give it until June, at least,” he winks and laughs.

He sticks out a hand to shake, “Rufus Blake, at your service,” he says with another grin, “Glad you liked the deer, take it you were one hungry puppy, huh?”

Trin smiles. "I mean. It's pretty cold, I guess, but I've been out naked in worse weather than this." She has no qualms about sharing this information with him--really, she'd share that information with just about anybody. "But yeah, it's not like. Y'know. IDEAL."

She takes his hand, blushing madly. "I'm Trin, Trinity McFasater," she says. "And yeah, thanks so much for that. I haven't really eaten that much... I mean. I don't know. Haven't been that hungry, I guess, plus my boyfriend says I could use to drop a little weight, so." She shrugs. "But it was really delicious, thank you!" She beams at him, stretching her lips so he can see all her teeth.

Rufus grins mischeviously, he has no qualms on recieving it! "Now, that's not very good. I know we can't get colds or anything like that - but still!"

"Enchanté,"" he replies as he shakes her hand warmly, bowing slightly. "It was lovely to share my welcome home dinner with you,"

And Rufus is going to be absolutely shocked by that, "He said what?!" he says in disbelief. Honestly, some men. How ungreatful and shallow! Anyone can see she's a lovely, smiley girl.

"I'm sorry to say this, cutie," he says, straightening up and sniffing, "But your boyfriend's a dick. You look absolutely gorgeous. Don't listen to him and don't change for anyone but yourself,"

Self love, yo. Rufus supports it. <3

Trin shrugs. “Yeah, I guess. Sometimes, though, you just sort of wake up and BLAM-you’re naked in the cold. It never lasts very long, ‘cause if you’re out too long it starts to hurt, but it’s not really that big a deal at first.”

She blushes madly and giggles a little bit when he shakes her hand. He’s like, a real gentleman, speaking in Italian and shit. At least, Trin thinks it’s Italian. She’s close enough, anyway, and besides, all those romance languages sound the same.

Trin shrugs. She’s pretty used to people saying that about almost all the men she’s ever dated, so it’s not like it’s a sudden revelation or anything. “But he loves me...” she trails off quietly, and then looks at her feet. “Thank you, though,” she says. “I’m glad I look good tonight. Like. It would SUCK to look awful, when you’re meeting new people and stuff.”

Self-esteem? What is that?
