(OOC: Backdated to the 3rd, because I am TERRIBLE.)

Meggie is eight years old today. She hasn't done anything to celebrate her birthday since her mother was around, though - since she turned four - because none of the foster families bothered. Jim's heading towards Bones' office because, well. Does he ever actually have a reason? Beyond being bored, that is, which is an excuse Bones scoffs at quite frequently. Today, however, he does have a very loosy-goosy reason for visiting, and that's the bottle of sweet tea he's holding in his left hand. He figures that Bones will be too touched by the gesture to snap at him too much about "having work" and "checking medical files" and "damnit, Jim, I cannot discuss STDs with a patient while you're sitting there playing Solitaire!" (Which was a bit unfair, in Jim's opinion. But he really hadn't helped himself by pointing out "there" and "Solitaire" rhymed.)

Either way, he's feeling triumphant with his newest scheme, and walks into the office confidently. His wings are hidden away at the moment, as he'd had to walk to the local gas station to pick up the sweet tea and a bottle of Dr Pepper for himself. He knocks cheerily on the doorframe as he steps inside.

"Hey, Bones--" he singsongs a little, before taking in the disarray of the room around him. "Woah, did something explode in here?"

It takes him a second to realize Bones is wearing just jeans and a t-shirt in contrast to his usual more formal work clothes--not that Jim's minding the view, of course. However, even he's distracted from that sight by the various debris scattered around the man.

"Bones," he beings, smirking in amusement. "Were you trying to build something?" He makes it sound as preposterous as pigs flying (or considering the avian race with noses similar to pig snouts they'd encountered on one away mission, even more preposterous).
