He did the monster mash! [party thread]
[OOC: I know there have been a lot of posts lately, but this one can be tagged from now until whenever. I just wanted to get it up this weekend. It technically happens Sunday evening. There has been advertisements up in the journal and around the Kashtta. Non-Kashtta residents can come too! Costume is not required though remember, you can feel free to have the Rift force your character in a costume for the day/party. :) Comment in. Comment to other peoples comments. Multiple times. In the Kashtta, the large cafeteria has been covered with Halloween decorations, including several real jack-o-lanterns with candles glowing in them. Try not to knock any down and start a fire, everyone. A fog machine creates a low level of fog that has spread out across the floor. The tables have been moved out. There are a few left pressed against the walls for those who would like to sit or eat for awhile. The center of the cafeteria has been cleared of tables and other objects so there is plenty of room for people to dance. Music plays from the sound system temporarily set up, focusing heavily on songs like "Monster Mash", "Time Warp", and "Thriller", but making its rounds from fast songs to a few slow songs.
Better and more elaborately done than both the decorations and the music, there is candy galore. Many types of candy fill the bowls around the party for everyone to enjoy. There is even a plate containing freshly made candy apples and cupcakes. There is high probability of a sugar rush for anyone that attends the party, which is exactly how it should be. It's Halloween, people! Forget those diets and dig in.
For those who didn't eat before coming to the party, there is also pizza and sandwiches along with a green punch in a huge bowl! In the other cafeteria, there's a jack-o-lantern carving contest and bobbing for apples. In several of the lounge rooms nearby, scary movies are playing on tv sets or projected up on the wall for those who want to cuddle up on one of the couches with a blanket and watch a few classic horror films instead of dancing around at the party.
As always, guards are around in case fighting breaks out a monster shows up, or anything goes wrong. This is Chicago after all. Martha Jones is well aware of this fact, and she'll make certain that they are prepared for anything.
