Sam walks through the park on a daily basis, sipping from his water bottle. Part of his daily rounds to learn about this place. So of course he sees fire and makes his way over to help.
But then he sees Bela and just smirks. "You know, water usually puts out fires better than heels."
Oh, Sam, normally Bela would have a smart ass response for that, but right now she's just pissed off and not really in the mood to verbally spar. So she's just going to glare daggers at you.
"That information would be so very useful ... if I happened to have some."
She takes the water bottle to pour it over the fire, but something in what he says makes her pause. Not long enough to not put out the fire, but enough.
" ... You needed Dean to tell you that? Is there something wrong with your memory, Sam?"
See, here's the thing. Dean told Castiel and Jo that Sam had left Chicago, but nobody bothered to tell Bela. So Sam not realizing she was here, when they've had a full conversation previous to this one is confusing her just a little.
"I'm not the Sam you're thinking about. Apparently, as I've been told, I was here and then left and came back. But I don't remember any of that... I just showed up a few days ago.
"Oh. I see. So bloody glad that every keeps me in the loop about these things."
Not that she has expected Dean to. He didn't know her the way he knew her back home, so it is understandable that she's left out of the group pow-wow's. But she's had a rough day, and an even rougher past twenty minutes, so her frustration is doing a lot of the talking for her, and she doesn't appreciate being made to look like an idiot.
"It's Chicago," she says with an air as though that's supposed to be answer enough. She's not even sure if this is her rift power yet, so she's not about to go around blurting it out to people. Even if this person is Sam. "The rift causes things to act up. Weird stuff happens. You should feel right at home."
"Yeah, well the thing about being home is that I don't have to stay in the same city for more than a few days at a time. I don't have that option here."
"And is that all that terrible a thing? Here people like you might actually do well." She doesn't mean it as an insult, even if that's how it sounds. In a place where monster hunting is about as common as a Starbucks, the Winchesters would blend right in.
"Well, I've yet to find my whole 'groove' in this place to make me feel like I fit in. Probably will just take some time." He rolls his eyes. Why did he stop to talk to her again?
"Teleporting kittens, a few monsters here and there. Nothing to terribly traumatizing." She pauses for a moment, before tipping her head to the side. "When in the grand scheme of things did you get here?"
But then he sees Bela and just smirks. "You know, water usually puts out fires better than heels."

He looks down at the burnt grass. "So what was up with the mini forest fire?"
