Lavendar had been intending to go visit the Hotel's lobby, because she's met a receptionist who makes her tea. Very good tea, really, and she was hoping to swipe a cup from him. However, she stops upon seeing the struggling man and a vaguely familiar dog.

"Do you want help, Mister?" It's only when she moves closer that something feels very familiar about the man, too. He has a warm feeling, something she recognizes on a personal level. It's strange, but she can't quite place it.

"You look a little lost 'n' all..." Bright smile.

"I'm not lost," he replies cheerfully. "Just....Slightly off-course."

Laughing just a bit, he shakes his head. "Well all right, I may be a tad bit off but don't tell anyone, all right? I like to think I know exactly where I'm going on most days."

At this, the dog gives a slight hmph, and pads over to sit next to Lavendar, nuzzling her hand lightly.

"Sorrysorry," Toby says quickly, sending the dog a disapproving look. "He's a sweet dog, I assure you, just a bit pushy on occasion."

He doesn't bring up the strange feeling that she brings about, a feeling of familiarity, of sameness.

"I won't, promise." Lavendar giggles and looks down as the dog nuzzles her hand. Tilting her head to one side she crouches down to give the dog a pet. He feels familiar, too, this dog. It's only when she catches a glimpse of the collar, though, that she gapes and hugs him.

"Grover!" There's a wide, wiiiide smile on her face. She hugs him loosely around the neck and looks up at Toby. "Where were you goin' to? I can help you."

With that, she'll disentangle herself from the dog (because really, it wasn't that strange) she moves to help Toby carry some of his suitcases.

Grover is more than happy to take all the petting he can get and once she's started, he moved to place his head in her lap, tail wagging with enthusiasm. However, it's when she notices the collar that he'll give an excited bark and trot back to Toby who's busy giving the two of them a rather confused, although amused look.

"We were going uhm..." He blinks, looking to Grover a moment. "Where were we going to, Grover? Our rooms? Or was it to visit?"

Pausing a moment, he looks to the dog, then his bags. "I think rooms would be the best idea, no need to clutter up other people's spaces with our things."

Getting to his feet, he'll offer her an apologetic smile. "Well, I'm trying to figure out where our rooms might be located but I'm not too terribly sure, so I suppose if you're willing to do some wandering, you're more than welcome to help."

"Oh! I can help you find that, but I have to know your name, first."

Lavendar smiles widely and looks about. There were names on the door, after all, so it shouldn't be too hard.

Their luck, though, he'd be far down one end of the hallway. "Have we met before, Mister?" She'll ask curiously, tilting her head to one side. "You feel very familiar." A sweet smile.

Toby looks around a moment, realizing that it did in fact seem that the names were on the doors.

"Huh, well I feel a bit foolish now. How about you?" He looks down to grover who shakes his head.

After all he was a dog, dogs can't read.

Shaking his head at the beast, he turns his attention back to Lavender. "Tobias but I do so hope they put Toby on the door, I'd much rather have that name displayed.

Giving her a somewhat relived look, Toby shakes his head. "I don't believe we have but you know, it's funny you bring that up." First making sure that the suitcase that Grover had been pulling along was secure, he'll then pick up two others, leaving only one for Lavender. "You see, I've been thinking the exact same thing."

"If they didn't, I bet you can get it changed to what you want." She nods eagerly and looks about, "I'm Lavendar."

She smiles and drops a hand down to scratch Grover's head before her eyes lift to him. She'll pick up the extra suitcase as he starts talking.

"That's really weird." She'll start walking down the hall, looking at the different doors and their names. "Are you... an angel or... did you come through the rift?"

"Oh, I wouldn't put them through that sort of trouble," he replies with a shrug. "Whatever it may be, I'm sure I can put up with it."

he smiles as she introduces herself. "Your parents must have thought you were quite a lovely little girl then, Lavendar, with such a nice name as that."

Grover meanwhile, is busy soaking up all the attention he can. Oh yes, this girl? Definitely one of his favorite people right now.

"Angel," he informs as he starts peering at some of the names on the doors. "I watch over children," he continues proudly. "What about you? Have you had the misfortune of getting to know the Rift personally?"

Lavendar smiles slightly and nods, "I think they did, yep." She misses them daily, but knows they were better off not knowing.

The hand that was scratching atop Grover's head shifts so that he might get a scritch or two behind his ears.

However, when Toby mentions the type of Angel he is, she gasps and looks at him. "You're a Children's Angel?" At mention of the rift, she shakes her head, "Nono, I know why you're familiar, why you feel very safe, the same..."

There might be a wince and flicker of her wings. "I'm a Children's Angel, too." Bright, proud smile.
