Elizabeth Jules is stuck in a trashcan in the lobby of the Kashtta tower. The story of why and how is long. To put it simply, she fell into a trashcan with a lid that prevents anything from getting out of it. It can only be opened from the outside. She is starting to think that it is actually a trap... that was also used as a trashcan.
Elizabeth yelled to get someone's attention but most people in Chicago like to walk by anything weird. A strong wanderer who could not understand a word of English assumed that the talking trashcan was obviously a wanderer and should be brought to the Kashtta.
After all, it's not the trashcan's fault that it's a trashcan and cannot walk to safety. He heaves the trash can up and takes it to the Kashtta Tower. ...and leaves it in the lobby.
"Hello," the trashcan says. "Can anyone hear me? Something sticky is getting on me!"
David Hansen knows that his dad is coming into town soon. May be here today. The realization has him more quiet, more inward than usual. He is in Grant Park, writing in another notebook, smoking another cigarette. He looks more disheveled than usual, more on edge, and it can't be helped.
There is chaos breaking out in the park some distance behind him because of a monster. He doesn't notice it, so lost in the writing.
Xander Harris is building a cat house (yes a cat house, ahem, like birdhouses but for cats) with the power tools in one of the rooms at the Kashtta Tower. There's no reason he can't use his skills that he developed at his job for the good of the wanderer/supernatural community, right? Because kittens need small wooden houses to sleep in. There's a definite lack of shirt and sweat going on here. Oh yes, Xander is a manly man.
