((OOC: I know. There has been all the posts lately, but it's KARAOKE TIME. >>" Party Post. Hop around, comment with one character multiple times. You know.))
In the bigger cafeteria at the Kashtta Tower, the room has been set up for a night of karaoke and fun. It's the first event run to bring the Supernatural Community closer together. Martha had

She requested something sweet. The bartender delivered. She is awesome.
At the moment, she's sipping on her drink, grinning wide at the singing people, and cheering wildly for every little thing that pleases her. Elizabeth is on the loud side when she has enough alcohol in her. Everything is exciting and fun! Yes, she's a... lightweight. One serious drink (more serious than pink champagne), and she's had enough to be drunk ( ... )

In Europe and other places, that totally counts as an adult.
She also requested something sweet. Naturally.
She plops down on a seat next to Elizabeth. She's avoiding males. Phoebe is not going to deal with males tonight or any other day if she can help it.
She loves her girlfriends. Girlfriends are great! They're problem-free and so Phoebe will not avoid them. "I'm thinking of doing a cover of Thriller."
Hi also works, Phoebe.

Oh, Phoebe.
The narration also apologizes for her stupid boy(s).
It's totally best to stick with the girlfriends. The girlfriends are not hobags.
"Thriller?!" Yep, that's a squeak. "You'd do awesomely at it! Like seriously! Do it!" Elizabeth grins and bounces in her seat. The drink has been set on the table, otherwise it'd be all over her pants. "Ummmm... Do you know the dance? I used to know it, but then I forgot it. It's a lot of acting like a monster anyway."
Cause that's totally how monsters instinctively act.
"Hi Phoebe!" Elizabeth remembers that's the greeting that should happen! "How are you? Your drink looks good."

Girlfriends are not hobags! They are lovely companions and Phoebe is going to have nothing but girlfriends from now on.
Oh, yes.
She's swearing off boys for good. No matter how hot, how funny, how interesting they are!
Well, she can't swear off her ward but that's another thing altogether.
Phoebe laughs, hard enough she nearly falls off her chair. "I totally know the dance! We could teach it to everyone once you remember! Cause that's like riding a bike, yo."
Definitely how monsters act. Ahem.
"It's very good. And pink! Hi Elizabeth! I'm bitchin'. And youuuuuu?"

They are the best companions.
The narration wishes Phoebe all the luck in holding off boys for good.
Elizabeth snorts when Phoebe nearly falls off the chair. "We could! It'd be like riding a bike, yes! I will... we can do that, and then everyone can be monsters on stage dancing to the beat!"
It is the epitome of monster activity. Yes. Nothing like Thriller to inform everyone.
"I am very good, and my drink is very sweet, and I am very glad that they let us drink! Because we should be able to drink too if we can go through hotel destruction and everything else Chicago! Age limits are dumb."

"We can ride bikes?" Phoebe asks, and she doesn't misunderstand on purpose. "That'd be kind of cool. Everyone could do Thriller on rollerblades. I wish I still had mine!"
It's best that she doesn't, the narration is certain.
"There are lots of things about the law that are totally dumb," Phoebe agrees. She slurps the last drop of her drink, and then she's ordering another one. Oh, yes.
"Where have you been? It feels like I haven't seen you in forever!"
Forever might be a grand statement, but it does feel like that to Phoebe, okay?

"Ohgosh, that'd be eight zillion kinds of awesome, but do you think like... I feel like that's very dangerous," she says. "But I'm clumsy on skates like the floor and I are really good friends. I'd still try, cause skating to the Thriller and monstering out. Heck yes!"
It's an experience that's not to be missed.
Elizabeth has not quite finished hers yet. She will probably only stick with the one. Maybe.
She wrinkles her nose a little at the question.
"Busy! Mostly with calling stuff, but I really did sleep for a week after the Conrad went... bye bye. Well, I did more than sleep but there was a lot of sleeping that happened and the bed was not gotten out of much. Sorry for being MIA," Elizabeth says, sipping and swaying a bit and smiling at Phoebe so brightly that her face hurts. And then she remembers something and flails, accidentally smacking Phoebe with her hands in the process. " ( ... )

"What's life without a little danger, Elizabeth?" She snorts. "...Not life in Chicago, that's what."
She wrinkles her nose, downing the last of her drink. She slams it back down on the table--because that's how they do it in the movies--and then is overcome by a hiccup.
Phoebe has a hard time believing Elizabeth's just had the one. It's her third, but she feels all light and fuzzy and oh gosh, is that a Barry Manilow song being sun right now?
"It's okay! I've been real busy, too. I even found my ward!" Who is, quite possibly, the toughest ward to have in the history of ever. Phoebe's up for the challenge! "What kind of classes are you taking?"
Her mouth is shaped into a perfect O. She's curious!

Elizabeth's laughing, covering her face. "Yes! Exactly! You'll never skate unless you try! And there's nothing that hurts about trying unless you fall on your patooty, but that only hurts for a bit! And then you're skating again!"
She is the lightest lightweight. Elizabeth drinks more of it, until its all gone.
WEE!
"You did- You--!!" She jumps to her feet. Mistake! There's some wobbling and then she pounces on Phoebe, hugging her tight. Elizabeth pulls back, grinning wide, filled with warmth that's more than the alcohol. She falls back on to her chair, clinging to the back of it to keep from falling. "That is so awesome! Holy buttered noodles, Phoebe! Phoebe!! You have to tell me everything about them!! Like all the details that could ever be said, but like obviously not the stuff that they want private, but you know! The STUFF about them ( ... )

"Seriously! That's one of the biggest things I miss about the snow. All the ice-skating I did over the winter. I wanted to be a figure-skater when I was little! It's true. I wasn't all that bad at it, either."
She might pick up the habit of going to the skating rink and practicing again.
It's one of the few things that Phoebe actually has coordination and focus in.
She lets out a loud squeal when Elizabeth pounces on her. Phoebe holds on to the other girl tightly, making sure the wobbling doesn't turn into a splat.
"HE is..." It's very hard to put Jack into words. "He's amazing! He's Captain Jack Harkness and I'm very happy and I'm hoping it all works out."
There is no room for doubt when Phoebe Donovan is involved!

"I bet you would've been a great figure skater," she says with a wide, bright smile. "Funny how we have dreams like that when we're little. I wanted to be something different like every week or month or something. It was pretty silly. I did spend two months where I wanted to be a Scuba Diver. Granny bought me a snorkle and goggles, and I used it in the shower, which doesn't work out all that well."
The snorkle does have a whole and water gets in the whole, but she didn't like baths at that point, cause she'd had nightmares about things jumping out of the bath to eat her. So she coughed and sputtered, and dealt with the snorkle in the shower.
"Captain? Oooooh," Elizabeth grins, sitting down again and bouncing in her chair still, because this is exciting news. "What is he captain of? A ship? A plane? A.... I forget what other stuff have captains! Wait, he's the guy runnin' Torchwood now, huh? I guess Torchwood has captains too!"
Reply
"Do you have any pictures of you wearing a snorkle and stuff? Cause that's something I wanna see."
She tries keeping her grin, tries not to think about the last real conversation she had with Jack aside from their training. "It's..." nerve-wracking, scary, worrying, frustrating. "It's really great! You have to meet him someday. Well, you will cause yeah he's head of Torchwood and--"
Phoebe goes a little quiet. "It's like the piece that was missing my whole life has finally clicked into place."
That's not a lie, at least.

But her granny is doing pretty good in the nursing home.
Elizabeth visits every two weeks!
"Yeah, totally! I can't wait to meet him someday, even if I'll probably be a lil intim... intimy... intimidated!"
When Phoebe goes quiet, Elizabeth does to. She smiles. It's warm and good and--
"I'm so happy for you, Phoebe." She reaches over to take the other girl's hand."You're gonna make an awesome guardian. He is way lucky to have you, and I hope he realizes it too!"
Reply
It's the alcohol, but she still smiles a little because pictures are good, and having your granny even if she's got dementia is also good.
Phoebe can't exactly say Jack's not intimidating, so she just slings an arm around Elizabeth's shoulders.
"Whoever's got you in their life better know how lucky they are to have you, too. I know I am!"
Phoebe rests her head on Elizabeth's shoulder. "Things are gonna start looking up, Lizzie. I can feel it."
She closes her eyes and sighs happily. Yes. Things will look up now.
Reply
She smiles when Phoebe sligns an arm around her shoulder, and then she wraps an arm around phoebe too.
"Ditto," Elizabeth says with a silly grin.
She nods and the grin fades into a warm, happy smile. "Yes, they totally will."
It's always good to have hope still, despite everything.
The alcohol makes it easier to look at the future brighter.
So does having a friend's head rest against your shoulder.
