In Grant Park, on the west side where the trees got thicker and there were trails to take you deeper under the foliage and out of the sun, stands a boy. He's short, and young - probably ten, though who can tell with kids these days? He's staring around him, blinking at the sun and pushing his hair out of his eyes as if that would help him see better. If the utter lack of adult supervision and sheer confusion on his expression wasn't enough to clue you in that he was a very new Wanderer completely lost in the park, the better-than-average ren-faire clothing and fishing pole (that is literally a stick with a line and a hook on the end) might be a bigger hint.
Oh. And he's soaking wet.
Varden's... very very confused. He'd gone fishing with Lineas! And that was going to be exciting! Even if Lineas thought that Varden was wrong and that fishing would be boring, that was because Lineas hadn't remembered that everything was exciting to Varden, so that was ok! And they'd gone to the big river and Lineas was showing him how to climb on the rocks, and then he'd slipped.... and when he got up he was here. And here was most for certain definitely not the king's forest.
And worst of all, he can't see Lineas anywhere at all, and Lineas wouldn't have left him alone. He should go look for Lineas, but how could you look for someone when you didn't know where you were? Didn't that make you lost too? Maybe Lineas wasn't lost and Varden was, and in that case he should stay still, because Lineas could always find him. But there were people here, lots of them, and he was supposed to stay away from people... This was very confusing. If he was supposed to go away from the people, where was he supposed to go to?
He really wished Lineas was here.
((OOC: And a reminder Varden's a little telepath/empath/whatnot so please check out his
permission's post to let me know what's kosher with your character!))
