Gray Raines is currently on a streetcorner, snogging a random woman he doesn't know. IT COULD BE YOUR CHARACTER. The reason for this snogging is because he may or may not have gotten into some trouble at a pool

Unfortanately, Gray, you have chosen the wrong woman to grab off the street and randomly snog. Mio is not down with this shit. And the narration means really not down with this shit. Mio pushes Gray back and then winds up and gives him her best punch to the face.

"You fucking creep," Mio growls.

[leosarecynical]

Gray yelps and his hand goes to his face. "Ow. Sorry, sorry! I don't mean nothing by it. There's just... Pool sharks. Y'know, this always works in the movies."

He's flailing pretty incoherently right now. HE DOESN'T MEAN TO BE A CREEPY. POOL SHARKS, MIO. WHO CAN DO HORRIBLE THINGS WITH POOL STICKS. HE DOESN'T WANT THE GIMP.

Mio looks unimpressed. "This isn't the movies, you fuckwit. This is real life, and what you just did is called sexual assault. Or are you too stupid to realize that?"

You know Gray, if you'd just run out screaming something about pool sharks wanting to kill you, Mio might have bothered to get involved in your favor. Now if they catch up with you she'll just laugh as they beat your ass.

Gray holds up his hands. "I know what sexual assault is." He takes a step back. "My best friend's a cop and, believe me, she'd probably come down pretty damn hard on your side."

He keeps glancing over his shoulders like he's expecting to get tackled from behind at any moment.

Mio goes to smack him again, this time a flat open-handed slap across the face. "If you know what sexual assault is, then why did you do it? And eyes forward. I'm the one talking to you here."

Any way you answer, Gray, you're probably in for more abuse from Mio, but some answers are better than others. You'd better think carefully about what you say.

Gray flinches and grabs his jaw, yelping a little in pain, before finally speaking. "'Cause there are two guys with pool cues and bad ideas lookin' for me and I'm tryin' not to get my ass kicked here? These are surgeon's hands. I need 'em attached and not busted up."

This time, Mio aims her punch for Gray's stomach. "Well, mister, you chose the wrong tactic. If you'd just asked for help I might have been inclined to help you. I would have enjoyed a decent fight. You might want to remember that for next time."

"Of course, if you were smart, there wouldn't be a next time, but given what I've seen of you I think that might be asking for too much," she adds him in a fake-saccharine tone of voice.

Gray doubles over. He's beginning to think this conversation isn't worth the pain he's getting out of it and he starts to edge sideways in the hopes of sidling away from her.

"Yeah, hon. I'll remember that next time. If you want, I'll just ease on by and we can pretend this whole thing never happened. And you can stop hittin' me. Okay?"

Oh Gray, you really don't know how to stop putting your foot in it, do you? The only thing that's saving you from getting another punch is the fact that you're doubled over right now.

"I'm not 'hon,' yours or anyone's," Mio snaps. "You'd do best to remember that too. Now get out of my sight before I punch you again."

Gray... Really does not.

He holds his fingers up in an 'okay' sign and bolts. Chicago's a big city. He will probably never see her again.
