Trying to make a way home

It's Thanksgiving, and people are celebrating in many different ways.

In the Gauche, Tay Barnam is not doing what she did last year. Amber had liked the whole potluck Thanksgiving thing they did last year, and Amber's gone now and things are... a lot different. She's a year older, and she'd like to think she's a little wiser than she was last year. So instead of trying to awkwardly arrange a potluck, she's sitting up on the edge of the roof with her wings out, looking down at the garden and eating an apple. She wouldn't mind a little company.

Willow's also in the Gauche, in one of the sunrooms, exploring the nuances of java programming. Bother at your own risk.

Over at the Kashtta Tower, Annie Cartwright is in the kitchen, cooking. She doesn't have the knowledge or ingredients for a full Thanksgiving dinner, not least because she's not entirely certain what goes into it. And... most of them are British, yes, but they're in America. And hey, why not cook a big meal? She's got turkey in the oven and the ingredients for Yorkshire pudding, and she's currently mashing potatoes.

Also, having at last emerged from the hallway Jack's room is in, Mat is standing outside the door to JD and Nate's room. He's not sure if JD is in there... he's not sure he wants to find out.

In the Casa, there is also cooking going on, but much less organized, as Maria's making curry for herself and anyone who decides to actually come home or eat. And Donna is in the living room, curled up in a blanket with a cuppa and a book, pretending to read.

And finally in the Conrad, Dusty is sitting in the basement lobby with her cello, keeping an eye out for certain people she misses terribly and playing bits of Vivaldi and Brahms and Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker ballet.
