Agony, torture, eternal pain. Festering boils drive you insane.

Midnight passes. The sickness that's taken hold of every shapeshifter fades away, causing every one to shift back involuntarily. When they awake, they'll be human again, if the shift itself doesn't wake them ( Read more... )

Carly, if you mind any of this, ping me, and I'll change it. shootsnarkstare October 31 2009, 05:21:25 UTC
While Peyton was a very sick kitty that couldn't be turned back into a person-shaped thing, Fred's bed was a very nice thing to have. And plus, her clone-thing that seemed far too nice for her own good was feeding her.

However, that didn't keep her from stashing the tuna lid (only after cleaned of ALL OF THE DELICIOUS TUNA OIL) under one of the pillows just in case.

And now that she is awake, person-shaped, naked, and covered in boils, she is very glad. She has some very serious questions for Fred. She doesn't even have time to be nice. Which would be why she presses the tuna lid up against her throat, her eyes wide, observing Fred.

The boils are the first thing that really wake her up. They're a little itchy, like chicken pox, and it's all she can do not to scratch.

But then she starts to feel the press of something kinda sharp against her neck, and she's not about to move for anything yet.

Weirder still, the person threatening her kinda looks an awful lot like--

"Who are you? Where's the cat?"

"I think I'm going to ask the questions here," Peyton says softly. She's smiling at Fred, but the situation is unnerving her. But keep smiling. Keep talking like she's in control and she will be. "Who are you working for?"

Hopefully, the interrogation won't go so well.

It's been far too long since she's gotten to torture someone properly.

"Work for? Uh, no one, last I checked. But I haven't exactly been lookin' for a good job around here yet, and now with the crazy plagues sendin' everything to hell in a handbasket, pardon my French, that's kind of limited for the time being."

Her eyes widen slightly.

"Right," Peyton says, still smiling. "You're not working for anyone but you've had access to Project Helix. You know, I'm feeling generous today. I'll give you one more chance to talk, and then I'll make you talk."

Far too generous. She digs the metal of the lid deeper into Fred's neck. She doesn't believe any of this bullshit.

"Look, I don't know what in the world you're talkin' about," Fred insists. "I've never heard of Project Helix or anythin' similar."

She tries not to swallow, as that would actually hurt things a little more.

"There was a cat here, um. You wouldn't happen to know where it went, or seen it at all?"

Peyton might have taken Fred's words in stride, just her playing dumb for a little longer, but then she has to go and ask about the cat again. Hadn't she already told her that she's the one asking the questions?

She's really asking for it. Peyton could take her back to headquarters and actually do a good number on her.

"We'll see about that," she says, ignoring the questions about the cat. No need to assure her that the cat is perfectly fine and currently thinking about the beauty of pulling out finger nails. She doesn't need assurance. She needs to knock Fred out so that she can get her back to Biosys International. She doesn't have anything on her to take care of that. She'll have to get clothes as well, to take her out. But pressure points were created for a reason. She reaches up, trying to wrap her fingers around Fred's neck, just needing to knock her out for the moment.

"Okay," Fred mutters. "Now, I don't normally like to use any of my powers, but the Rift's been kinda generous in that respect, and what you're doin' actually hurts a little, so if you wouldn't mind--"

She reaches up with two hands and tries to pry Peyton's fingers from around her neck. It's easier, with the strength and all.

"Won't hurt for long," Peyton remarks. Fred is far stronger that she expected, but Peyton doesn't let her annoyance show on her face. If anything, she looks more smug. It's hard to get at the nerve she's going for with Fred prying at her fingers, but she tries to dig in her thumb deeper. "You know, if you keep struggling, I'm going to have to hit you upside your pretty little head, and I think that would hurt a lot more."

This shouldn't be such a struggle for her. This isn't right.

Easier, obviously, but not by much. Fred's starting to lose consciousness, and she fights against the spots in her vision, her cheeks flushed as her hold on Peyton's hand starts to loosen.

"Y'know, this is all very problematic," she murmurs, her voice beginning to soften.

"I hadn't quite noticed," Peyton says dryly, not letting up on her grip. She doesn't seem perturbed at all by the fact that she's naked and covered in boils. The situation is going to be taken care of. Fred is fighting less and less; it can only be so long before she passes out. Then she needs to see if she can scrummage together something to keep her sedated longer, steal some of her clothes, and figure out where she is so she can get her back to Biosys International. So she can get the real story out of her.

One problem with torture is that when someone really doesn't know something, eventually, they'll make up stories, just to make the torture stop. And, of course, considering what Peyton thinks Fred knows, she's also going to assume she's had to withstand torture before.

So the first couple of stories aren't going to cut it. It's been far too long. She hopes her game isn't rusty.
