All our times have come

[forward dated to the October 25th] (so be sure to forward date any reactions accordingly or wait until Sunday to post them)

The day has finally arrived.

From here on out, there would be chaos by his hand. A chaos that he could claim as his own. It's all Randall Flagg Marten Broadcloak, Walter o'Dim, Walter Padick, The Dark Man, The Walkin Dude, He Who Walks Behind the Rows can ever ask for of any universe, and he has been in many and in all he has staked his claim.

His people cleared Sears Tower yesterday for 'renovations' had anyone attempted to enter. He's had guards posted there since to prevent any suspicious person from getting in and getting out, again. About an hour ago, Randall Flagg tested the abilities of the small Nephilim children in the lobby. A Rift is now in the center of the lobby, swirling dangerously. From its depths, the children pulled a creature out known as a Death Claw, which will remain a significant distraction to anyone that might attempt to get inside the tower. There will certainly be a number trying once the broadcast goes live. It will be their lives that they risk by doing so.

The Deathclaw has already killed many of Flagg's men that were supposed to be guarding the lobby. It takes only a few swings of its claws to tear a man in pieces.

At the top of the tower, Flagg stands in the skydeck with a camera pointed at him and the newly opened Rift directly behind him. The Nephilim children stand nearby though far enough to not be seen by the camera with a guard watching them. He has a police baton to hit them with should they step out of line though it doesn't look like it will be necessary. The effort of creating the rift and pulling out a monster from it in the lobby seems to have done a number on all of them. It's best that their sick, exhausted faces stay out of sight. Audiences tend to sympathize with children after all.

Donna Noble is tied up close enough to be seen with a gag in her mouth to keep her loud mouth from speaking. If it had been Flagg's decision, he would have cut out her tongue, but they didn't consult him as to how to keep her quiet. A man holds a sword against her neck. If the children don't do exactly as Flagg says, the man increases the pressure on her neck. He'll start cutting off limbs before he kills her. On Flagg's orders.

Watching a loved one suffer is such a wonderful motivational tool. Flagg feels strongly that it's a tool that shouldn't be wasted or taken lightly and yet so many people do. Strange.

At the signal, a red light on the camera flickers on and the broadcast begins, taking over every other channel so that no matter where one turns they will have to watch. And isn't his voice enticing? Doesn't everyone want to stop what they're doing and listen to him speak? The children have been instructed to pull a beast from the Rift when Flagg says a certain line. If they don't comply, their mother will suffer for it.

"Citizens of Chicago, I come to you today from the top of the Sears tower... not as your Mayor but as a fellow citizen. I, like you, want nothing more than for the violence in this city to be stopped. I'm afraid I have made a grave discovery in my efforts to decrease the violence." The camera pans out so that both Flagg and the Rift can be seen clearly in the screen. He steps closer to the Rift. "What you see behind me is a Rift. I know it's difficult to believe, but I promise you that they exist all over our fair city. You may have seen one before and not realized what you were looking at. They often disappear after something or someone has fallen through. You see people and creatures from other universes and times that do not belong here come through these Rifts all the time, creating havoc on the streets of sidewalks of our streets. They're allowed to walk among you with no consequences for what they do as they don't technically exist in our world. There's no way to bring justice upon them for the crimes they commit against us. You've all seen them. Unexplained creatures chasing someone down the street. An individual who could do something that you couldn't explain. Up until now, you've been able to do nothing other than look away, but I urge you to see what is around you."

He folds his hands together as he stands in front of the camera. His expression is calm. I can get you through. Believe me. Listen to me. Love me for what I'm telling you.

"Now what do I suggest we do about this? The CLF is a group of hate and violence. Violence can only lead to violence. They had the wrong idea even if they saw the problem before anyone else could. No, my suggestion is that we find these Rifts. We have our scientists monitor the city so that we can be aware of Rifts as they may pop up. If we can get these Rifts watched by trained professionals, we can control the violence, control the problem before it's too late implementing tracking devices for every being that comes through, registration, putting them in a setting where they could do some benefit to our society instead of using up resources that don't belong to them."

Flagg can tell that it's working without access to any of the people seeing this. Of course, it's working. When has his plan ever not worked? He shoves aside thoughts of Las Vegas and the unexpected bomb. It was a case of too much devotion. Good intentions by a follower that lead to unforeseen consequences. He survived it anyway, survived it to create chaos in another world as he's meant to do. There's no sense in being angry about what's already passed.

"I know that it's difficult to believe my words alone. It's unlike anything you've heard of or seen before unless you've been reading science fiction novels. If you'll look behind me, I think you'll find that I am being completely honest with you as I always have been, Chicago."

That's the Nephilim children's cue. Time to see who cares enough about their mother to obey.
