It’s been a little while since Claire braved going outside since the attack but there’s only so much time that a girl can spend inside when the only time she is going out is to head to work. So she’s finally deciding to be brave in going outside and doing something. Right now she can be found in the coffee shop where she’s sitting quietly at a table and reading while enjoying a cup of coffee.
She’s also enjoying a nice fudge brownie in celebration of her birthday. No, it isn’t today. Her birthday had passed a couple weeks before which was basically when she was still hiding out in her new place. Plus it’s hard to get in the mood to celebrate your birthday when you’re trapped in a city with no way to go home and you have no family. Well, yes, there was Peter but she was missing her parents.
Now she’s trying not to think about it as she takes a small bite of her brownie while glancing up to see whoever was coming into the coffee shop. She’s kind of bored and hoping to recognize someone. Hopefully not someone who wants to beat her.
As for Jayne, how long did you expect him to be around without getting into trouble?
Right now he’s on the street in front of The Conrad, being rather vocal with some young woman who looks rather annoyed with him. He doesn’t look too pleased with her either as he is glowering at her with a rather dark expression on his face and a fading red handprint on his cheek.
“Gorramit, woman, are you fēngle?” He demands, still rubbing the side of his face while glaring at her. “I only asked if you were a Companion!”
The poor lady looks absolutely insulted as she gasps. “I am not a prostitute.” Her fingers start to tight around the strap of her purse as she prepares to take another swing.
“Well maybe if you didn’t dress like a jiànhuò....OW!” He yelps as the purse slams into his shoulder and he winces away, cursing the fact that he won’t hit a woman even as he ducks another swing from the lady. He still isn’t sure what the problem is but maybe someone can clarify?
