Firstly, she's in Chinatown washing dishes. The owner of the restaurant doesn't speak much English, but that just means less questions and she pays in cash. She hasn't worked in a while, and she broke a few dishes.
She's really glad she doesn't understand Chinese. The owner is a bit violent with her behind the store. She doesn't fight back.
So Jo has a black eye when she's back at Grant Park. She's looking for Rusty because she has money now and she needs him. She can't sleep. Too many nightmares. Too much pain.
She's also dropping by the Conrad to grab food. She is raiding the fridge like she's feeding an army. Which, in a way, she is.
And then she's going back to the house and she and Susie and Tommy and Lily and Lauren and Jamal are going to have a feast. There will be so much food. She made sure to grab hotdogs, of course.
