never been afraid of love 'til I met you [locked]

[Timed to late this afternoon~]

In one of the less busy parts of Grant Park, Daniel Faraday is sitting on a bench. He has a small decaf iced coffee with him, but that's gone mostly untouched.

It has chocolate in it! He's... not very excited about this. He's actually pretty sure drinking it would be a Bad Idea, what with the feeling of "I'm going to throw up any minute now" lurking in his stomach. Every few seconds, he glances over at it and glares. Obviously, it is mocking him with its undrinkable chocolatey goodness. Or maybe, just maybe, he's turning all of his internal anger outward and focusing it on that poor cup of coffee.

He hates you, coffee. You're a coward. You're a coward and you over-complicate everything and you can't let go of anything and you are way too emotional for your own good. You're a mess.

Oh, wait. No you're not. He is.

After a few more seconds of glaring, Dan's expression shifts to something much less angry and much more defeated. He's just lost a game of "it's not me, it's you!" to a friggin' coffee cup. Why he was even doing that in the first place, he doesn't know. He feels like he doesn't know a lot of things.

He sighs, rests his elbows against his knees, and props his forehead up on slightly trembling fingertips. Just when he thought life here was getting easier...
