In Grant Park, one can find many monsters, odd objects and other strange threatening things. One can, but Jennifer Rose never does. Other than the occasional new wanderer, Jennifer Rose usually doesn't see anything supernatural in the park.
Today, however, is different. Jennifer Rose is happily sitting in an odd little clearing that just happens to be completely surrounded by enough trees that it's hard to see in from elsewhere in the park. She's not entirely sure how the waterfall even exists, but it spills into a pond surrounded by flowers of all sorts. The sunlight bounces off the wet rocks and the water to create shimmering rainbows in the air. Said rainbows might defy the laws of physics, but Jennifer Rose doesn't know much about physics anyway. Besides, she's too busy making flower crowns for the inhabitants of said clearing to worry about how the rainbows can exist like that.
Jennifer Rose has found unicorns. And also two adorable marmalade kittens. And a couple of birds that make her think of Disney movies. Jennifer Rose is in her happy place, and it's not just inside her head.
Just in case that's too sickeningly sweet for some people, Topher is in a cyber cafe. He's got a cup of coffee that's cooled by now since he only bought it so he could get the free internet. He's working his way through various job listings and looking more and more annoyed as he goes.
Nagi is out in town wandering his way through various junk shops. Aside from the entertainment value of such places for him, he's hoping to find some random bits that he can use in the computer he's been building. It works, but not well enough for his tastes. And doing this is helping him shake off the unsettled feeling he gets when he visits Serena in the hospital.
Sakura is finally keeping a promise to herself today. Or maybe it's a promise to her father. She's not sure, but it's been gnawing at the back of her mind since she got to Chicago. She's out at the cemetery where her parents are buried, and she has her violin. Since her father was unable to make it to her senior performance, she's bringing it to him. The music is heartbreakingly beautiful without the impact of her talent. If there is anyone around to hear it... well, it's a jumble of grief and love and loneliness and feelings that Sakura can't even give words.
If graveyards aren't people's things, Sakura returns to the Conrad as soon as she gets her teas enough under control that she can drive. All the signs of crying are still on her face when she enters the basement, and she plans to head straight to her room if no one stops her.
