Ever since Surreal had gotten to the world, it's only starting to settle in that this world was heavily reliant on something virtually non-existent in her world.
Technology.
Cars were the first experience, having to walk to the Conrad before, and the fact that lights were used instead of lit lamps and candles were the next lesson. From there, it was getting in to the rooms with these cards that somehow unlocked a specific door, called a keycard she learned, and then recovering from the wild right the Rift was so kind to give her. It had either been resting, eating more food than what was typically seen, or going out and accustoming herself to the area around the hotel.
Then there was trying to actually explain what she had seen, and finding out what the box was called. Which meant an education about this world's technology was needed, before it bit her in the ass.
This time outside of the bedroom, and away from all those areas under construction, and instead in the common room. Not that the lights are on, as Surreal hasn't exactly learned what light switches are, and went to using the witchfire. Luckily, it doesn't actually burn, but provides a nice light source. Leaving the woman reading over the book titles with the light grey light nearby to illuminate the bindings. "Which one of these are about the dohickeys in this world, now..."
Self-lessons on technology aren't as good as productive as she would like to think.
