He groans, shifting in the bed. «They don't want me in until two,» he says in Spanish. «Leave it be.»

His breathing steadies again after a few more uncomfortable movements. «What time is it, anyway, mija?»

Adrian breaks off into mumbles, shivering a bit.

Yeah, wandering around the halls and divebombing a guardian angel didn't exactly agree with him.

Rachel frowns, concern etched all over her face. She doesn't know enough Spanish to translate all of that, but she catches "leave it be" and "what time is it".

"It's still morning, mijo," she says softly, her fingers drifting up to his hair again. "Barely ten. I'm off today so I thought I'd come see you, like I promised. How are you feeling?"

«Plenty of time.» He hisses a little when he moves his arm to catch her wrist. Probably slept on it funny or something, he thinks, hardly conscious. He slips his fingers up over her hand and gives it a little squeeze, bringing her own fingers to his lips to kiss them.

Adrian sighs and settles again, apparently dozing. He's still got his hand curled around Rachel's, resting at the base of his throat.

Rachel frowns a bit, confused--though the frown abates slightly when Adrian catches up her hand and kisses it. Why is he insisting on speaking Spanish when he knows she knows so little?

"I think you just said you have plenty of time," she replies, giving his hand a small squeeze, hoping he's awake enough to hear her. "I think. I'm doing my best to keep up, anyway. I just don't understand, Adrian. Time for what?"

She moves her fingers a bit, knuckles ghosting over the base of his throat in an affectionate gesture.

"Is the doctor doing something at some specific time? Is that it?"
