We've got tickets! Lots of tickets! Don't be shy! (May 8-9)

[[OOC: So here's how it goes: Every couple of days, there's going to be a new party thread for Carnival happenings. Pretend I posted this much, much earlier, but there you go.]]

The Carnival is open for business.

There's the usual complement of rides, various games (knock over the clown/pop a balloon/pick a rubber duckie and win a prize!), a house of oddities and historical curiosities, a small arcade, the funhouse, haunted house, tunnel of love....

And the shows. Every few feet there's another barker (talkers, they call themselves), advertising a different show.

"Right now, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, we've got the World's Strongest Man right here in this tent! Just a dollar lets you see him, speak with him, test your strength against him -- come on in and be amazed!"

"Dancing girls! The most beautiful women you've ever seen! These aren't your ordinary ladies, folks! Each one of our girls has been trained in ancient dancing arts passed down through generations... Egypt, Greece, Babylon! These are the dances that made kings grovel at women's feet, and you -- yes you, right there -- you can see these ladies dance for just five dollars! A bargain at twice the price, so whaddaya say?"

"Come in, come in, see our Ten-in-One! Freaks of nature and human oddities, all right here! You can see them, touch them, and they'll be more than happy to answer your questions! Five dollars, that's just fifty cents a piece! You'll be amazed! Sir, ma'am, have you seen the amazing Mermaid Girl? How about Faith, Hope, and Charity, our Siamese triplets, ladies and gentlemen? All these and more! Just step right this way..."

"Come and see the one and only Maximilian J. Maxwell, performing feats of magic to inspire and amaze!"

"Beauty and the Beast right here, ladies and gentlemen! Our delightful Lola, the snake charmer, will be more than happy to show you her way with these terrifying reptiles, just come on in...."

Wandering through the crowds are fire-eaters, clowns, jugglers, sword swallowers, all performing just enough to pique the crowd's interest before vanishing into tents where the real show will take place.

There's also a fortune-teller's booth, promising deep insights into the past and future, as well as, for the less well-off, a simple machine which promises a card with your fortune for just 25 cents.

Enjoy the show, ladies and gentlemen.
