A beat-up Buick that looks more like someone's tech lab on wheels than an actual car pulls into the parking garage of the Conrad Hotel and out steps one Juliet Burke, looking slightly aggravated. Apparently, the only person who can drive that car and have it not be an utter chore is Marshall. That or it just hates her. If that's any indication of how her day might possibly go, then she's in for a world of hurt.
She still has her card key for the basement as a precautionary measure , because you never know when you might need access to the basement again and considering it's safe for Torchwood to actually venture down there these days, it's probably a useful thing to keep up with. She also has a bottle of water which seems relatively innoucuous- after all, it's a fairly warm day out today- until you remember that she's a Water Elemental. She wasn't really expecting any sort of attack, given that she drove here, but it never hurts to take precautions and she'd feel much more comfortable with a source of water close by so she doesn't have to bust a pipeline or something.
It's strange that after so long of not being in the basement, it hasn't changed one bit. Forgetting the reason that she came here for, she wanders around, remembering when she first came here and how much has changed since then. God, she could still remember the day she came through. It's even more uncomfortable when she considers that Ben's here now. You don't want to be anywhere near me.
He thinks I'm his.
She finds the Rift Room door open and wanders in, figuring the Rift will distract her from Ben. He's a small blip in a much bigger set of circumstances and now that she's part of Torchwood, there are much bigger things to worry about, like when the next disaster might strike. Compared to that, Ben seems so utterly insignificant.
The Rift flashes and swirls as if in greeting when she walks inside the room and she grins a bit. "Hey, you," she murmurs.
Eventually, she'll go looking for Daniel, but for right now, she's going to take a moment to ponder life, the universe, and everything. Seems as good a place to do it as any, after all.
