Another day of decomposing light...

Mac is lurking around the pier.. Or rather, she's lurking around the parts of the pier that people can actually get to, considering most of it is closed off thanks to whatever the hell went on down there about a week ago. She's annoyed that she wasn't there for that- it could have been awesome. For the most part, she's trying to see if she can ( Read more... )

Four is also wandering around near the Field Museum today. She doesn't really have any particular agenda in mind, just sort of aimlessly wandering about outside, feeling the people in her head as they come and go from the museum. She is a bit surprised when she gets in range of Anka, because she feels different than a normal human--she hadn't noticed that the first time they'd met. It was a little bit like how Robin 'felt' different, but it was a different kind of 'different feeling.'

While she's mulling on this 'different feeling' thing, Four lurks around Anka, not sure whether or not to go up and greet her.

Thankfully, Four doesn't have to. Anka's a little too good at people-watching and she notices pretty quickly that there is a little sister around. She finishes her ice cream and bounds over to her like an overeager puppy.

"Hello!" She beams and then proceeds to grab Four's arm and tug her in the direction of the museum. Four does not get a say in this. "Come with Anka now. Will be fun, yes!"

Four's default reaction to people grabbing parts of her body is usually violence towards said other person, but because it's Anka she'll resist. Anka is is like a trainer-handler, and you are not allowed to hit trainer-handlers unless they tell you to spar with them. So Four acquiesces to the arm grabbing and goes along with Anka.

"Hello," she replies. She wonders what Anka thinks will be fun. She's never 'had fun' before, that sort of thing was the worst kind of Not Allowed at the Laboratory.

Anka just grins a little like a giddy child, leading Four into the lobby. She purchases tickets with a flurry of rambling and the woman behind the counter can only aquiesce to her demands out of sheer shock- hey, she has money, that's all the ticketseller really needs. That accomplished, Anka hands Four the second ticket and then promptly rocks back on her heels.

"Never got a proper name, did you?" She asks, tilting her head a bit at her. Arlin might have given her one, for all she knows, but knowing Arlin... No.

"Gabe from the park recommended Forsythe, because it sounds like Four," Four tells Anka. "He said that's a last name though, that I would still need a first name. I still don't know of any good ones for that." Well, she knew of names, but they already belonged to other people. It would be confusing if she took names belonging to other people--names were for telling things apart, she knew, so it would be no good if two different things (or people) were named the same thing.

Anka makes a face at the name Forsythe. Not pretty colors, but whatever. It's just a last name and Anka has just the first name for her! ...One that just came to her two seconds ago. She's kind of impulsive like that.

"Luka," she nods, matter-of-factly, crossing her arms over her chest and looking rather proud of herself. For better effect, she repeats it, "Luka!"

She giggles. It's a cute name! And it has the same syllables as Anka and she's practically adopted Four as a baby sister anyway, so that makes sense in her head.

Four is concerned by Anka's face-making. "You don't like the name Forsythe? I can change it." She doesn't want Anka to be upset. Making Anka happy is much more important than the suggestions of some person from from the park.

"Okay, Luka." Four nods. "It's a good name."

Anka waves a hand, bouncing a bit in overexuberant apology. "No, no, no! Your name. Is yours! You can keep it. Unless..."

She bites down on her lip, considering something. "Petrovic. That's Anka's last name." She points herself and then points to Four- Luka. "Sisters have the same last name."

And, there you go, Four, you've been adopted whether you like it or not. "Luka Petrovic," she says, testing it. "You like?"

Four/Luka is a bit confused. "Sister? But we do not share the same parents." Sometimes she can take things a little bit literally. "Luka Petrovic," she says slowly, testing out the sound of the name in her mouth. "I like it. It's a good name," she tells Anka.

Anka sighs in a long-suffering way and gently pats Luka's head. "Don't have to be, yes? Chosen family just as good as real family. Anka has not had real family in very long time- chosen family is better. And now Anka has a little sister!"

She's very gleeful about this. She has a little sister and a boss who is sort of a big brotherthing!

She grins toothily and claps. "Good! Good! Come now. There is a dinosaur here we have to see, yes? Big skeleton!" She spreads her arms wide. "Very scary." She curves her hands, imitating dinosaur claws and makes a 'rawr' noise. She's very hyper right now, apparently.

"Never had family before," Luka tells Anka. In actuality, this isn't exactly true--several of the CSPs were Luka's clone sisters--but while they were taught to work together in teams, there was no sense of family between them. "You will have to teach me to be a good sister."

Luka watches Anka's antics impassively. "Okay, let's go see the dinosaur." She waits for Anka to lead the way.
