Making the best of it, playing the hand you get...

Casey is off-duty for the first time in a week, and kind of hoping she can get through the day without something exploding. Just today, that's all she's asking for - things aren't allowed to explode on her day off. She's jogging in the park, hair pulled back in a tight ponytail, sweating a little despite the chill. Ragnar sits near CJ, grooming himself. He pauses everyone once in a while to look over the wreckage with austere disapproval.

"Humans and their fondness for destruction," he mutters. "Insofar as I could tell, I must say, this was an entirely functional building."

It could be your imagination, CJ. Or it could be the good ole curse of Bast kicking in.

CJ is really starting to wonder about the cats. The one was... okay, understandable, with the Rift and all. Another one, however...

She looks down at the cat, blinking in confusion. "...function never has anything to do with it. Except when it comes to deciding a target... Is there a pack of talking cats somewhere around here that I haven't noticed until now?" Do cats come in packs? Whatever it is you call a group of cats...

Ragnar blinks at her in response to her blinking. It seems like the thing to do. "Cats are not difficult to converse with, madame, if one only listens to what they have to say. Why then was this building... 'targeted'? It still seems a useless expenditure of energy."

CJ smiles just a little. "Converse with, maybe. Understanding them seems to be another matter." Don't worry, CJ, that's just a problem everyone has with Cy. The question gives her pause. She is not having this conversation with a cat.

"Have you ever heard of terrorists? I guess it's not a big thing with... cats, probably..."

"Terror is not an unfamiliar concept," he says. "I have felt it. So too have many. Was that the object of this?"

He looks at the building and then back at CJ. "Why should the destruction of a building cause fear?"
