Frosted window panes...

It's the most wonderful time of the year. Really. It's easier to freeze the moisture in the air as it's already so close to freezing itself so it's less work if Tess ever feels like using her powers for anything. It hardly ever becomes necessary to freeze anything more than food she wants to store over long periods of time.

She loves the cold though even if the heating costs in the apartment complex skyrocket and leave her scrambling to have enough money to buy herself a prime turkey breast, Boston Market mashed potatoes, and a McDonald's apple pie to enjoy on Christmas Eve.

I've been thinking about food a lot lately. Need to get off of that train of thought. Need to lose a few pounds. Just say no to the vendor selling hot chocolate and oh, is that a Christmas danish?

Tess avoids the vendor. Just barely though. The Danish was green and red. She wonders how they do that as she heads across a park. Not the park, but one of them. There's a group singing Christmas music in the center of the park in front of a frozen fountain. Tess stops to watch them, rolling her eyes. Stupid Christmas. She walks away from the group.

A little kid had seen her roll her eyes and make the disgusted face. "Grinch," he calls and throws a snowball at her.

"Hey, Bullseye, don't think just cause I'm grown up and hate Christmas doesn't mean that I won't get you for that," Tess leans down to scoop up a handful of snow in her bare hands.

"Mommy!" The kid runs.

Tess smiles to herself, looking far too pleased with herself. Should probably get out of here before the mom comes. Or I could stay and fight it out. Wonder if she'd get into a cat fight over it. I've always wanted to be in one of those... Hmm.
