Drink up, me 'earties, yo ho!

Dmitri and Des wander up to the Kashtta covered in snow. They had beer planned. There was just a small... large... snowball war to get sidetracked by, and then they lost track of time, and you know how things go. Dmitri's coat is covered in a thin sheen of ice, and they both look more or less like a winter storm dragged them out back and frisked ( Read more... )

Des attempts to tromp the worst of the snow off of his boots and shake it out of his coat- which is what happens when one finds oneself diving haphazardly into snowbanks like a crazy person.

He stares at the door, stares at Dmitri, and then stares back at the door for a moment, before turning to look back at her one last time. "You want to savor this moment, don't you? It doesn't take requests either, precious, just in case you were wondering."

"I really do," Dmitri agrees. "And have you actually asked if it takes requests, or are you just naturally distrusting of doors that play music at you?" She inclines her head toward the lobby, a clear Let's move on, here gesture. "Once more unto the breech, dear friend. Unless you plan to avoid doors for the rest of your life. I don't know. Does it do anything different if you climb in through windows?"

"The windows are safe." Yes, he tried it. Yes, he did a merry little dance when he realized he found a loophole and yes, he's fully aware it's not prudent to climb through windows all the time.

He swings his focus to the door, "Dear doors, please don't play anything humiliating. Love, Des."

He steps inside and...

Off the Florida Keys there's a place called Kokomo. That's where you wanna go to get away from it all.

He steps inside quickly before that song can get forever stuck in his head or something and makes a face. "Fucking. Doors."

Dmitri pats him on the back, letting the door swing closed behind her. "It could be worse, Des. It could be something thoroughly emasculating. At least it doesn't play bubblegum pop or anything."

That's reassuring! And quite possibly incentive for Des to make sure the Doctor never touches the Rift again. At least not without knowing what he's doing.

Next time, it realy should be the Doctor who gets musical doors and the ability to turn into small mammals.
