You will always be the one who knows

There is a blonde girl stalking through the Kashtta. Okay, well, not stalking so much as bouncing. She's bouncing through the hallways grinning like an idiot and is very clearly looking for someone in particular. That someone particular being one John Smith ( Read more... )

John's been making himself a cup of tea, avoiding a rather upset-looking faun when he can. And then there's... Cassandra, at first glance. If she seems more like the Rose he met for a moment... Well.

Perhaps she's just found a virgin whose blood she can bathe in.

Rose, for her part, doesn't even register the sour look on John's face. She just registers that it's John, and he's the person she most wanted to see at this moment.

So, John, there is a squeal of teenaged girl glee, followed by her pretty much glomping you.

We're so sorry.

"John!"

And that... That's not...

She's not acting like Cassandra, which leaves John deeply, deeply confused.

"...Rose?"

Rose pulls back enough to grin excitedly at him, bouncing a little. "I got out! I don't know how, but it just... went away! The wall. And I could get out here and I did and oh it's good to see you!"

And she hugs him again.

Really, John, just be glad she's got enough presence of mind not to snog you.

And this time John hugs back, like a man who can't quite believe his good fortune, and...

"A-are you sure I'm not dreaming this?" She's very close and very... nice... and he's quite certain he shouldn't still be holding onto her but...

"Ah... You've got to be hungry. Given Cassandra and how she never eats..." Yes, this is a nice, safe change of topic. Something that doesn't involve the gorgeous young woman in his arms, close enough to...

No. We're not thinking of that.

As if on cue, Rose's stomach grumbles loudly. "I'm starving," she declares. "And I might actually mean that literally. Food is good, where's the kitchen again?"

She steps back just a little, trying to remember which way to go, slipping her hand into John's without really thinking about it. "Ah! That's right, this way!"

She takes off, all 20-year-old exuberance, hunger, and excitement, tugging John behind her.

And she has to say, she rather likes holding his hand. It's warm and solid and... well, she's been a bit deprived, sense-wise, and the touch of it is so nice.

Not to mention... it's John's hand.
