I think these things are too hopeful, even with my expert knowledge...

The Doctor's in a better mood than he has been in... quite some time. Being able to actually do something useful (and suitably impressive) will do that to him. So when he wanders into the Kashtta, he might actually be bouncing a little. Just a little ( Read more... )

The robot isn't here, Dave Doctor. Mostly because it saw you coming and retreated to an isolated office on the fifth floor.

But have a kinda-sorta-Angel-of-Knowledge coming down the stairs toward you! Dmitri may have spent the night dozing in the lounge with a pile of stuffed animals. Hey, fluffy rooms in the middle of secret agent headquarters might not be everyone's idea of comfort lodgings, but Dmitri's not everyone's idea of a... normal person.

"Well, look at you," she calls, on catching that expression, finishing the last few stairs at a jog. "What did you solve, DoOrDie?"

The Doctor blinks a little at her, and his expression flickers a little - oncoming Dmitri is usually something to give him pause, especially lately - but as this doesn't seem to be an oncoming Dmitri of the "serious conversations the Doctor would rather avoid" sort, he quickly goes back to the unconcerned grin.

"Oh, nothing much. Coffee shop's still standing, though, which is more than I can say for the past... many, many months." That thing has not been undamaged for any stretch of time more than a month since he got here.

Dmitri laughs, at that. "Well, I'd say that's worth a few gold stars. Pat on the back. Maybe the key to the city. So, are you heading off for any other dashing deeds of derring-do? Or just visiting Casa de la Creepy for a while?"

Dmitri may be regaining her spirits! At least in casual settings.

Movie nights and popcorn fights. They help everything.

"Not just yet." There's nothing else exploding, that he's aware of, for one. And as much as he enjoys excitement, he doesn't mind a little quiet now, after everything. "Just thought I should make sure everything's... alright here... Although I heard there was a robot. It sent me suits. Don't suppose you've seen it?"

Yes, he is a little fixated on that. He thinks he has a right to be, considering the suits.

"Oh, Torchwood's creepy assassin robot? 'bout this tall," she says, indicating a height around six feet, "kinda with more muscles than I think a robot really needs, and why do aliens share a human sense of bodily aesthetic anyway? Scanner thing in the middle of its face. Helped me carry in furniture. You should see the lounge I made. It's - yeah, a bit hilarious, but don't tell Torchwood that."

She considers.

"...the suits, I would not have expected," she says.

"They fit too, and honestly, that's the part that concerns me more than the suits themselves." Not only is the robot giving him clothes, it knows exactly what size he is without ever having seen him. As for the human-shaped aesthetic, it... happens a lot in the universe. Technically, Time Lords being first, you're all Gallifreyan-shaped rather than us being human-shaped... Anyway. Would you... happen to know where it is? I promise I won't take it apart or anything."

"Far as I can tell, it wanders around stalking people in Torchwood and being creepily helpful from time to time," she says. "Uh... you could ask Marshall. He's gotta be around here somewhere, and he's probably keeping track of where the thing is just in case it decides the age of organic domination has come to an end and starts killing us all. Think he actually talked to the Chula who sent it, too."

Other than that, no. But then, she's not even in Torchwood. Why's she going to know where they keep their weird robots?

"Huh," the Doctor says, frowning a little in the general direction of the control room. And then his mind returns from whatever rabbit trail it was running down and he comes back to what Dmitri just said. "He talked to the Chula?" Well, that's... interesting. In the way that... Oh, he's going to need to see about this.

"'scuse me, I need to... go... um." He starts off for the stairs, though at least this time he's not running away. Just too curious for his own good and much too interested by all of this.

Dmitri chuckles. There are a few things you don't stand between - a Guardian and their Ward, an archangel and a demon, the Doctor and something shiny that makes no sense. "Happy hunting!" she calls.

Wonders if she should maybe warn Marshall that something is coming.

Something exuberant.
