The TARDIS is... variably good at obeying orders. Flight destination settings, in particular, cause problems. But a standing order that says the Pack is in danger and she needs to protect them?
That sort of order comes through loud and clear.
As soon as the time-locked post opens up to the journals she's on the move, with every intention to FIND the members of the Pack and take them in to guard them. She's swooped in on Rose/Cassandra within seconds and is scanning for the next-closest, and broken as she is, she can't scan far... but there are more members of the Pack in this vicinity, and those are her next targets.
