They say it's just a matter of time and place...

Jeremy Taylor has made his way to Chicago proper. He's walking through the streets in a nice suit, wings hidden beneath his jacket. He's painfully ordinary, blending into the crowds, and if he sees an angel, he won't engage them in any way. Just... Make notes. Prepare to hunt. You know, the usual ( Read more... )

Now, at some point, either before or after running into Suzie (it doesn't really matter which), Tay is making the rounds outside. She's letting off guilt and confusion and just a hint of resignation.

Also annoyance, because Eric is sitting at the base of her tree. Which she sort of wants to be up.

Instead, she's pacing the perimeter of the garden and glowering slightly at anyone who comes within ten feet of her.

Eric looks up when Tay comes close. The emotions coming off her are significantly more intoxicating than the wine is, but he'll be keeping that to himself.

"Ah, Tay. I had something to ask you, if it's not too much trouble." He smiles, appearing friendly and harmless and not projecting.

She sighs, a bit, and scowls half-heartedly before planting herself a couple of feet in front of him. She really just wants to be left alone, but whatever.

"Yeah, sure."

"Do you have any particular type of music you like? Or... Well, anything you enjoy doing that doesn't involve hunting demons." He smiles, slightly apologetic, though whether it's for interrupting her Time Alone, or for being a demon, who can say?

"I'm trying to arrange for a night out for Elashte." He frowns a little, obviously concerned for his friend. "He could use one. But I'd rather you enjoyed yourself as well -- it's frustrating enough being the guardian angel to a demon without having to be dragged along someplace to just be bored, I'd imagine."

He looks her over quickly, and appears mildly concerned for her as well. "Though I get the feeling my timing's... not the best. I'm sorry."

Tay sighs a little, and gives up on the whole "sulking and scowling" thing, because she's honestly just... not up for it right now, and flops down on the grass near Eric. "No, it's cool. Whatever."

She purses her lips a little, thinking. "Um, so, things I enjoy... not counting hunting or things related to hunting?" she asks uncertainly, and a tiny bit sheepishly.

She really has no life.

"That's more or less the idea, yes." He smiles a little. "I know El's a jazz man, so I was looking for decent jazz clubs in the area, thought I'd narrow it down by the proximity of places you'd enjoy." He grins and raises an eyebrow. He is devious in friendly (and harmless, really!) ways. "Of course, if you happen to like jazz, the problem solves itself."

"Uh..." Tay makes a face, and is suddenly wishing she'd invested in that activity that Buffy calls "getting a life". "I have no idea? Never listened to jazz. I don't... really do much outside hunting."

Seriously. Her idea of 'fun' as a child was going to the woods to visit her great aunt and hunting squirrels with a bow and arrow.

Eric grins a little at that. "Well, that can be fixed, if you'd like. Elashte's the one to ask, really, but his tastes have rubbed off on me a little." He shrugs. "I'm not going to force you, but... Finding things you like outside of hunting might be a good thing, if you're living here."

He's trying to be helpful, really.

"That's what Buffy keeps saying." Tay makes a face, sticking her tongue out. It's good-natured, though, which is... well, startling. "I just don't know what to do."
