So if anyone were to walk by the Common room they would see all the furniture moved off to the side and a thin boy sitting in the middle of the room. There was a table at the far end and Regulus was just staring at it

[OOC: Apologies for the lateness, but I haven't been able to do much lately -- let's just pretend this got posted two days ago, shall we? :D?]

Casey isn't around to see the display with the snake; she's not planning on going in the common room at all, actually, except that things begin exploding as she walks by, and that's the kind of thing that catches your attention.

She steps cautiously through the doorway once the destruction has stopped and approaches Regulus. She's not the best comforter, but she likes Regulus, and she'd feel bad passing by without making sure he'll recover.

"Regulus? Are you alright?" Silly question, all things considered, but it's what comes out.

Regulus was silent and shook his head. He wasn't all right. Not at all.

Casey placed a hand hesitantly on his shoulder. "Do you want to talk about it?"

"I'm starting to hate this place," Regulus said quietly. "Sometimes I don't even want to bother getting out of bed. Because what's the point?"

She squeezes his shoulder lightly as she tries to figure out what to say to him. It takes a few moments, and even then, she's not sure what she's saying when she opens her mouth.

"Isn't it better to be here then to not be anywhere?"

"W-what do you mean?" Regulus asked, wiping his eyes.
