Girl or Gun?

There's an air of terror in Chicago this morning. The killer who began rampaging last night has still not been found, and the body count is piling up. People who've seen this have brought back horror stories of a ruthless and efficient killer with a blood-streaked face. But strangely, past that, and the fact that the killer is a blonde female, ( Read more... )

The trouble with not doing the secret agent thing anymore is that... she still has all those skills and abilities, there's no getting rid of that. And since clearly no one else is going to deal with this - or possibly capable of dealing with this...

So here's Sydney, just down the street from April, more than a little surprised to see that when they said young... Well, they really did mean it. Sydney's not armed, but she's not looking to kill the girl, just disable her, call the police, and then wash her hands of it as quickly as possible.

She flinches a little as April catches a man who'd been trying to run, and snaps his neck with a kick. Okay. On second thought, maybe not as simple as she'd thought, even if she is young.

Not like that's going to stop Sydney.

April is not thinking. She's calculating the best way to beat the people she comes in contact with, though on the whole that's not difficult, and escape the occasional gunfire when the police think they can stop her. She's killed at least one squad already, and at this point they're just tailing her and trying to clear out the streets.

Not like she hasn't done a good job of that already.

Sydney is obviously a fighter, and as April walks calmly towards her, she's mentally sizing her up and creating a strategy for killing her. She walks, just walks, until she's a little closer, and then stops a few feet away.

Strategy - attempt to provoke target into first action.

Sydney hadn't been expecting her to stop, but she takes it more or less in stride. If she can do this without too much damage to either of them, so much the better. She holds up her hands, palms out - as if, coming from someone trained in unarmed combat, that's any reassurance she's not going to hurt her - and edges a little closer, one slow step at a time.

"My name's Sydney Bristow. I don't want to hurt you..." She glances briefly to one of the bodies on the ground, and then back to the girl's face. Not that that's going to stop me.

April tilts her head slightly. "Wants are not important," she says flatly. "We do what we were made to do."

Oh, the irony. Really.

She's just waiting. She estimates the target will step in range shortly.
