((OOC: The bank is located more closely to the Tower than anywhere else. It's likely that a good portion of the city heard the explosions though. Feel free to have your char react here or in their journals or not at all if they never catch the news and don't worry about random explosions.))
"The explosions heard earlier today were the result of a bank hold up. According to eye witnesses, a group in clown masks entered the bank. Shots were fired, hostages were subdued. The details of the bank heist are still being worked out, but details will be hard to come by as the bank exploded only twenty minutes after the heist began.
No news yet as to how many people may have died in the explosion. Firefighters, paramedics, and police are still working their way through the rubble. The police chief, in as close to an official statement as we've had yet, has thrown around the possibility that the thieves died in their own explosion, but that has yet to be confirmed and-"
He pauses, listens to the feed coming in through his ear, looks up at someone behind the camera in surprise (who is obviously urging him to pay attention to the camera as they're still very much airing live).
"I'm sorry. My producer stopped me mid-story.
Breaking news just in. It seems the Mayor James McCroy has been shot at an appearance he was making downtown. No news yet as to the details. We will keep you posted, taking you there with live feed as soon as we can. More on that when we come back."
