So, here's an interesting thing: in an organization with as many talented, competent, brilliant people as Torchwood, there are about two of them who actually think of such necessities as... say... food. One of them is Ianto, who's busy with organizing other things at the moment. The other is Sam Tyler.
Sam's found that there are kitchens in the Kashtta. None of them are stocked, however, which is a bit of a problem. This explains why Sam has apparently decided to tempt fate by leaving the tower on his own. At least he's armed. That's... something, right? Although having been shot in the shoulder not long ago does put him at a serious disadvantage should anything happen...
Other members of Torchwood have important responsibilities at the moment. Sam is shopping for food. Which is important in its own right - he isn't sure Torchwood wouldn't all starve otherwise.
