Not appreciating the change in sceanery

Belle is bored. She's a fourteen year old bored pixie. In a hotel. Who is trying very, very hard to not ruin anything.

Having been relocated to an upper level, Belle has basically stuck to her room since Aubrey is gone, and Belle doesn't know many people. She's not shy, that's not it at all, it just seems like they're so caught up in Big Events ( Read more... )

Doc's coming back up from the lobby, where he was getting himself used to being around normals. He considers the experiment something of a success -- nobody seemed to notice anything particularly odd about him. That coupled with his trips out for food with Aubrey is making him a bit more relaxed about going outside. Maybe he'll start doing it more often.

He's heading back to his room when he sees a young teenage girl wandering the hall, looking bored. He frowns and pauses, wondeirng if he should do anything. "Hello? Can I help you?"

Belle eyes up the sort of wild looking older man and tilts her head to the side. Something about him...There is something...off. No, no! There is something right! Something she's missed horribly. The scent of magic.

Belle lacks tact, so once she's made the connection, she's jumping up and down and giggling.

"You're from Faerie! Not my Faerie but you smell of it! Oh brilliant, that is bloody beautiful! You're not fey though, not even half...You a changling?"

Errr....excuse her Doc, she's very excitable, since no one else here has had any sort of magic like her and she's missed the feel of it.

A lot of the color drains from Doc's face. This -- this little girl -- she's from --

He steps backwards, trying to get a hold on his automatic reaction to run from all things Fae. Not her Faerie. Might be different. And she might not be one of them, he tells himself firmly. He can't have a panic attack here. Not in the hallway. Not when the weather will respond in an undoubtably violent manner.

"Er, yes, I am a Changeling," he says slowly. "Probably not as you know them, though." He glances up and down. "Are you?"

Give him a minute, Bella. If he manages to recognize you as Aubrey's friend, he'll probably calm down a fair bit.

Belle smiles cheerfully, all fourteen year old glee.

"Not me, no. I'm from an alternate dimension, obviously, yeah? Well I'm from Ireland properly, over there. Pixie, me. Well, half. My da's human and my mum is a pixie herself. We're from the Seelie Court! Drives Aubby mad, it does, when I talk magic 'round him, but you're fae too! Well, not properly, but you've the mark of it!"

She's highly excitable. It's hard for her not to be. Here is what feels like a touch of home in a place that feels as different as the Unseelie Court would feel to her. It's all dark and serious and there isn't near enough light and happiness.
