Aiden stares at the various food items they're offering in the cafeteria, honestly torn between... well, pretty much everything. He wants to try as much of the local food as possible, but can't decide which to try FIRST ( Read more... )

"You do realize that what you're sampling is typical cafeteria cuisine and not subject to being stared at like it's the main entree at a fancy French eatery, right?"

Descant's leaning over his shoulder, smirking a little. Of course, he remembers that Aiden's not actually from this world and that most of this food is new and exotic to him, but he can't resist a little teasing. It's in his nature.

Aiden glances back at Descant and smirks back. "Perfectly aware of that. But everything is new here, so..."

He's actually rather impressed that Descant is actually leaning *over* his shoulder given that Aiden is over six feet tall. But he's also leaning over slightly, so that might explain it.

Well Des isn't a short guy, himself, so it's not that hard (also he's standing on his tiptoes just a little).

"Well, in that case, the mac and cheese comes highly reccomended. Breakfast of Champions. That and Spam."

Aiden laughs. "Macaroni and Cheese it is." He picks up a bowl of this and goes to sit at one of the tables.

"So how're things?" He asks, settling down at the table.

Tosh is glad to find Aiden in the cafeteria - she'd been rather looking for him, since offering to help him find time-period appropriate clothes and actually get him out of the hotel for a bit.

"The food will all still be there tomorrow, I promise," she says, coming up behind his shoulder, a little teasing smile on her lips. "I get the feeling you'll have plenty of time to try it."

Aiden's stomach protests this statement with a feeble sort of growl. He grins somewhat sheepishly. "Well that's true enough I suppose," He admits, ignoring his stomach and turning to face Tosh. Smiling at her, he asks, "How're things going, then?"

She has to tilt her head pretty far back to meet his eyes, but she's used to that. "Well enough. I haven't gotten any far with my study of the rift, but I did ask Martha about getting you some clothes. There's apparently a room where they've got clothes appropriate to this area... I'd bring you some, except I don't know what size would fit you. But I've got a map!"

She's rather too pleased with herself for the map thing. Or just a bit too excitable in general. But she likes being able to help.

Aiden grins. "Well, what are we waiting for then? Let's go!"
