Revan's very good at sensing out psychic distress. And she doesn't like it when people in the basement are distressed.

So she finds her way to the Rift Room and stretches her mind out to the TARDIS, exuding calmness. You shouldn't try that... What's wrong?

It takes Revan a few minutes to work out what the TARDIS is saying. She asks, May I "teach" myself your language?, conveying what she intends to do along with the question-which is to say, search the TARDIS's consciousness and transfer an understanding of the language to her own mind. She'd rather communicate with her in her own language.

The Doctor here isn't your Doctor?

She hopes the syntax is correct. This is her first time attempting to speak TARDIS-speak, after all.

Don't worry, Revan. Sometimes it seems like syntax is secondary to meaning, with the TARDIS. She'll pick out what she needs to.

The TARDIS whrrbles, beginning to play back the triggering encounter. He'd told her that Time Lords weren't necessarily to be trusted, uprooting one of the cardinal faiths the TARDISes were made with. It felt like discovering that Time was linear, that sentience was fixed, that the node tying person to identity was non-unary. And she'd responded by turning over the two Time Lords closest to her, tearing through their minds looking for evidence that they would turn on her, twist her up and make her scream against her very nature...

And she hadn't found any. But then they'd gone away.
