Sam sat down without hesitation once Kurt confirmed he was okay for visitors at the moment. There was no way to deny that seeing Kurt like this was extremely confronting. He looked so sick, and even from the last time Sam had seen him, he had lost weight and there was a dullness in his eyes. He gave a small shake of his head. "No, just leaving the path clear for your family, dude. I didn't want to get in the way, but Andrew has been keeping me more than updated on everything. He talks a lot to me how he's feeling, and I know he cares about how you're doing a lot. I'm glad he's been able to help you, dude. You deserve the best of everything."

He smiled with a laugh. "Yeah, it's still sort of surreal for me. I don't think we're ready to set a date yet, but I promise if we do, I'll definitely be calling on your services. I mean, you can vouch for married life, right? It's pretty cool? It doesn't even feel real some days. It's nice, though. Having a relationship that works so easily isn't something I ever thought I would have, let alone to get it to this point. I owe that to you on some level."

Kurt gave a small nod of understanding. "You wouldn't be in the way, you're family too, but it's not like I don't understand your reasoning. There is no right or wrong way to face any of this. I'm relieved to hear that Andy is talking to you. I know he can be a stubborn bitch on that front. You're right, though. He's a fantastic doctor and the way he has helped me, and Blaine, has been priceless. I can never repay him. Even when Blaine's losing it and getting upset, Andy is just wonderful with him." He paused watching Sam closely. "Your grandpa died of cancer, didn't he? I'm sorry, Sam. I know this must be taking a lot for you to be here. It's nice to see you, though. I like having my friends around."

"There's no rush. I mean, not that I can talk considering I'm an eloper to the highest degree, but the choice to get married is just as big as doing it. It's okay to find your feet with that, and you will know when the time is right. Whether it's sooner or later, it doesn't matter. Married life is... like nothing else. The whole better and worse thing is huge, and it's not always hearts and roses, but that's what makes it amazing. It's sharing your life with someone forever, and having them there for all the good times, and bad times, and really fucking awful times is what it's all about." He smirked at Sam with a small shake of his head. "Because I cheated on Andrew?"
