Home sweet home!
I got in this morning at 6am after a long 7hr drive home. Remind me again why I decided to drive back from Sydney at 11pm? My eyeballs felt about a thousand pounds at 3am - but we made it and after a small sleep I'm now up and unpacking and sorting through everything.
Christmas was great with the family; I certainly upheld the tradition of eating, drinking and being merry. LOL Probably a little too much. I shopped till I actually dropped during the crazy assed boxing day sales (which I vow never, ever to do again - 40% be dammed!), and I got to see all my family which was fantastic. I'm happy to be home though, which usually happens when I return from a whirlwind trip in Sydney. There are things that I missed, but quiet honestly the peace and quiet back home is wonderful.
I still have a couple of days off work, which I'm thrilled about, but I'm not so thrilled about the car insurance and rego papers I have to pay. I really hate that they arrive this time every year. I suppose it's life's way of telling me not to go too crazy during the holidays.
I'm probably rambling, and I'm seriously sleep deprived, so I'm going to go and have a long hot shower, have some breakfast (or should I say lunch?), and start the mammoth task that is the laundry basket. More than likely I'll curl up and watch some Modern Family (thanks Santa) and crash for a few more hours.
