#8 Dargo & John Crighton - 'FARSCAPE; The Peacekeeper Wars'
Though John didn't die in this episode, we as an audience thought he did for a second. Hands down the best grief stricken cry EVER goes to Claudia Black when she started screaming for help. I sobbed. But the death of Dargo was equally as devastating. I loved his final cry of, 'I'm your daddy!'
#7 Joyce Summers - 'BUFFY: TVS' - Episode: The Body
This one is physically painful to watch. If I ever need a cry I turn this episode on and I'm in tears within moments. Joss Whedon is truly a God among men, and everything about this episode is amazing. I feel like this episode is as close to real life as you can possible get it. The way Joss deliberately had no background music to create this raw, tunnel vision moment that I think anyone can relate to when someone they know/love/etc dies.
#6 Kate - 'NCIS' - Episode: Twilight
This was a big shock and I pretty much stopped watching the show after this. I was a big Tony/Kate shipper and then she died and woah... I was stunned and devastated. I did love how the show followed up on how her death effected each and every character of the show. I think this should happen more in the shows I love.
#5 Wash - 'FIREFLY' movie: 'Serenity'
I didn't seeing it coming at all. I had not read any spoilers, hadn't seen a single preview and so I was guttered when all of a sudden he died. And that line right before it happened, "Watch how I soar" I think I chocked on my popcorn at the time. Brilliant! I didn't blame Zoe for wanting to die.
#4 Janet Fraiser - 'STARGATE SG-1' - Episode: Hereos Pt 2
I knew someone was going to die in the episode thanks to spoilers - but I didn't know who. I was stricken when I thought it was Colonel O'Neill, but the moment of relief was blasted out of the sky when my favorite female character (after Sam) was killed suddenly, and brutally. I sobbed like a baby... even now I can't watch that episode without crying. Daniel's sobs, "Janet??!! Medic! I need a medic!"
#3 Fred - 'ANGEL' - Episode: A Hole In The World
Gah!!! Didn't know this one was coming either. Her last heart breaking line, 'Why can't I stay? ' OMG. I ended up liking the character Illyria, but it was just so tragic. As an audience you could feel how hard she was fighting and how much pain she was in. The song 'You are my sunshine' will forever be tainted for me. Brilliant acting - seriously Amy was so believable and incredible. She deserved an Emmy for this.
#2 Claire McLeod - 'MCLEODS DAUGHTERS' - Episode: My Noon, My Midnight
This is an Australian show, so only a few ppl on my flist might know of this show. I had no idea this was coming and she was my favorite character. I was so mad at the tv show for killing her so I stopped watching the series. I wrote a letter to the writer I was so mad and disappointed. I cried so hard. It was so tragic. Wonderful acting - but so tragic to watch her go over that cliff and smash into the ravine. Kudo's goes to Bridie for spectacular acting as she fought desperately to save her sister!
#1 Ellen and Jo Harvelle -'SUPERNATURAL' - Episode: Abandon All Hope
This one is ranked number one. I knew it was coming, but it still hurt and I cried big time. From Jo's brave face, to Dean's grief, to the quiver in Ellen's chin... brilliant, but heartbreaking! They went out as heroes and I am proud that these amazing women went out in a blaze of glory, and will miss them dearly.
