I agree with you, I do think this episode is a little underwhelming, mostly because we all knew pretty much what was going to happen going into it. There was something lacking that would tie it all up and give up something NEW. But it's a good episode, especially wrt S5, and wrapping these threads up was necessary.
JMS says that of the final 5, this is one of his favorites. I wonder why.
I think he was sekritly just SO HAPPY to get to finish out Londo and G'Kar's arc. He may even comment as such in the episode commentary on the DVD, if I remember correctly. Sure, he would've been OK to end it after Season 4 (so he says) but it would have left some loose ends where the two of them were concerned.
Does anybody else wonder how Londo convinced the Drakh to let him rescue Delenn? (Perhaps this is where the "gift" to the unborn Sheridan child comes into play?)
Again, late to the party. I know I can't be the only one sobbing my eyes out (for over an hour) because of this episode. Seriously, this is horrifically tragic! (did I mention its my first time through the series?)
