What better way to get back at someone then bring back their former lover. Better yet bring back the thing that made them who they are. You see there was once this nasty evil creature of the night, went by the name of Angelus. Unfortunately he got cursed with a soul and has been bugging the hell outta me. Also hasn’t been on the best of terms with ( Read more... )

Bringing back the dead to me was highly overrated and never really turned out good. Far be it for me to tell Holland otherwise, once he has his mind set he never really does change it. I crossed my arms as I looked at the former 'powerful one,' and I couldn't help but believe that even she was overrated. Bring back Angelus's former love to have a little play time with Angel, I could think of a million ways this could go wrong. I let out a sigh as I watched Lindsey be the 'protector' and actually had the balls to pull away Holland.

"that's just great, Do I need to send for a the medic crew?"

I turned to Holland who looked very intrigued at Lindsey. Men that always seem to forget the ones who do the actual work around here. Like gathering all the vampires and shamen, if it wasn't for me none of this would be possible. It was more than likely a little early to be making fun of his fake hand by now but can't say I wasn't ready too.

"right..."

I said as I quickly got on the phone. There were more important things to get done at the moment.

"It's Lilah, we need the medics down in the basement ASAP for the test Holland requested .."

I flipped the phone as I turned to actually look at the cage. She looked fairly scared and she very well should be. They don't call us the most evil law firm for nothing.

The last thing she saw was Angel's face, before fading into nothingness, pulled down into that swirling black tormenting abyss, where time didn't matter, just endless darkness. She was nothing. She was just there, unable to struggle, unable to think, just there, trapped there forever, or what would have been forever until something changed. Something came other than the unforgiving darkness. A force pulling mercilessly at her, pulling her out.

And then she felt something cold and solid against her bare skin. Forcing her eyes open, she sat up, with an unnecessary sharp intake of air. Terror stricken eyes darted wildly around the confinments of the box, and she instinctively shrank back into the corner, pulling her knees up to her chest protectively. A couple of blurred figures slowly came into focus, a woman staring towards the cage, and a man holding out a blanket to her. She didn't reach out for it; she was still trying to process any thoughts at all.

I didn’t pay attention as Lilah called the meds. I just looked at the girl. She looked so frightened and scared. A bit lost at the same time. Don’t blame the girl, one minute she was probably in some hell dimension next she’s sitting here in front of us. Besides the whole soul ripping away at all her guilt. That’s gotta hurt. Wonder if she can feel it yet, probably not.

She gives me a look as I offer her the blanket. “Here its ok” I pushed the blanket at her hoping she would grab hold of it. “You have nothing to worry about, you are safe now” I said in a reassuring voice. It was like a child who was taken away from its mother. So wonderful these things were. And we would be the big heros right now taking her in and making sure she was alright. Then plan Angel would start.

Boy, I can’t wait till that day. The day I see Angel’s face when he sees his sweet Darla standing in front of him. I’ll be sure I have front row seats to that.

Somehow her fingers managed to clutch around the fabric of the blanket, and she pulled it against her body. Her clouded mind started to slowly clear up, and she was able to remember...that night she was killed, and then being nothing, but now being something again, and being here. She was still confused on exactly where the hell she was. What did they want with her? She held the blanket close, but she still trembled.

She locked eyes with Lindsey. Human. She could hear his heartbeat, the pulse racing through his veins, a rather fast pulse at that. She suddenly felt the intensity of that thirst, the longing to lunge at him and sink her fangs into his flesh. A tounge ran instictively across her pale lips. But something else was there holding her back, and it wasn't just the cage.

I stared at Lindsey as he made googley eyes at Darla. It was quite sickening even for him but as I stood my distance I noticed Holland taking little notes in his head. More than likely making plans as far as I could tell, he was very shady like that but who was I to judge or even care for that matter. All I knew was this chick better do her end of the bargain or Holland was going to be furious with both me and Lindsey. He never makes mistakes, the stupid idiot always shoves his mistakes on us to the Senior Partners.

I tapped my foot onto the ground in anticipation of someone to say something. The medics of course would probably be taking their precious little time, if someone did have an actual emergency then things would get a bloody. I checked my watch to see how much time we still had to spend down in this disgusting basement. We still had a while here and then the wait on Darla's tests results. I turned to Lindsey as was still hunched over the cage,

"Hey lover boy do you think take your eyes long enough and come and sign a few of these statements?"

He still had paper work about his hand or lack there of anyway, there were supposed to be signed a few days ago but Holland left all of his paperwork for me to do. Can't say I blamed Angel, Lindsey was a little arrogant even for my taste.

I continued to watch her as she slowly grabbed the blanket. I could only imagine everything that was running though her head. “That’s it” I said in a soft voice.

"Hey lover boy do you think take your eyes long enough and come and sign a few of these statements?"

I snapped my head back at Lilah. “Love boy” I laughed, “Nice one Lilah, couldn’t come up with anything better I see” I slowly walked over towards her. “Now then” I glanced down at the papers. “Where do you need me to sign.”

Frankly I didn’t give a damn about this stuff right now, the only thing on my mind was getting back at Angel. Never cared for him much, but the recent events made it that much worse. I gave Lilah a fake smile as I grabbed hold of a pen and began to sign the papers. I knew inside that little head of hers she was laughing at what happened. Just wait till Angel gets her, one of these days.

Once I finished signing the papers I walked back over towards Darla, and kneeled down again. It seemed like she was started to adjust to the settings around her, well from what I could tell. “Darla?”

She hadn't taken her eyes off of him the whole time, glaring eyes baring down on him as he signed the papers and came back to the cage. Stray strands of hair hung in her pale face. She could still feel that heartbeat.

Darla?

He knew her. She narrowed her eyes at him, seeing if maybe she'd met him before. Her mind was still a little clouded, so maybe she wouldn't remember. She didn't answer him at first, eyes drifting away from him and studying the unfamilar room, taking it all in. After a few tense seconds went by, she shifted her gaze back to him.

"Where am I?" Her voice was soft, unsure. The words coming from her own mouth felt strange to her. She wasn't used to the sound of her own voice. It felt like she hadn't spoken in centuries, which could have been how long she'd been in that Hell dimension.

Perfect she finally started talking, her voice was soft and a bit shaky but it was beautiful none the less. She asked where we were. “This lovely, well not so lovely basement we are in right now is the basement of Wolfram and Hart.” I smiled as I said Wolfram and Hart. “And we have taken the time to bring you back. It was a terrible lost when the senior partners heard of your demise to Angel. How strange that he would kill you for that Slayer bitch of his Buffy”

I knew I had to say the right words to win her over and stir her up. I moved a bit closer to her “How are you feeling Darla? If there is anything you need let us know we will do all that we can to accommodate you.”

This was all working out so wonderful so far, we have to make sure we play this one slow. Although I wouldn’t mind shoving her at that bastard right now, but that would probably mess up our plan. We had to slowly get her to our side, especially with the fact that she was going to have a soul, at first that is. Really don’t see why we couldn’t have figured out a way to bring her back without that damn soul but I guess that would just have to do for now.

What is it with him and his arrogance that just makes want to vomit. It's hard for me to believe that girls actually eat this up, Lindsey had to be the luckiest man in the world. I watched as he signed the papers, fairly quickly if I do say so myself. He was in his rush to play caretaker to the once ex vamp. I rolled my eyes as I put everything back in the folder. I had everything I needed to get filled out and now all that was left was to wait for the medics, which could take tons of my precious time.

I couldn't help but continue to check my watch every five seconds to ignore the ever so sweetness act Lindsey was putting on. If she knew how he really was she'd probably be a bit more afraid than she was now. I crossed my arms as I heard a couple doors open behind me and thank god for that.

"Ok Lindsey, I think it's time for someone else to take care of the helpless former evil..."

I sighed as I watch the gurney pull up. If anything she wasn't going to remember a damn thing, it was technically her a re-birth. Who remembers being born anyway? I guided them to the cage and wondered if opening it was such a good idea. I practically left it open to Lindsey, since he's been the one toying with her. I turned to the medic in charge as I had distinctive orders to give him.

"Harlom wants you to make sure all the test results are delivered directly to him once they're done. Also just a reminder any actions that come from Darla, We're not responsible for."

I put my hand on my hip as even I could smell fear off of him. What can I say procedures are procedures and right now I'm was glad I was in my own shoes.

Angel. She remembered he was there with the Slayer, Buffy. That was her name. He killed me. He got her from behind. She saw his face, his name slipping from her lips...and then she saw nothing. She shut her eyes for a moment, seeing the features of Angel's face. As much as her mind had been clouded, she could still see him perfectly. Then she realized this man...Lindsey was speaking to her, she opened her eyes again to stare back at him. She already knew what she wanted.

Someone had wheeled a gurney up to the cage, and her attention darted quickly to the medic entering the room. He took his orders from the woman and then nervously approached the cage. She didn't even have to look in his eyes to know he was terrified of her, of what she could do to him. She could smell the fear on him, rolling off him in waves, his blood pumping. She craved it, to tear into his throat, drain him dry. But why did it also feel wrong? Something wasn't right...

He was opening the cage, hesitantly, getting ever so closer. The cage door swung open. Her hunger was growing, overpowering that other feeling. And she felt herself lunge at him, a growl escaping her throat as she shifted into those vampiric features. She could hear him shouting as suddenly others had rushed into the room and gripped her arms. She should have been able to throw them all off easily. But she felt helpless and weak, and it enraged her more to feel that way. Somehow they had managed to get her on the gurney, and terrified eyes looked up at Lindsey. What were they doing to her?
