it happened again
I'm constantly getting the strangest "compliment."
This time from one of the temps in my office: "Are you from here?
By which they always want to know, am I American.
And I always smile, say yes, and always ask, why?
And it's always some variation of that I dress, carry myself, have style, etc. in a way that is awesome, amazing, impressive, and therefore somehow Not-American.
Weird.
