today I saw a girl on the bus i just wanted to kidnap and make her show me how to apply eyeliner....outside tv, movies, and magazines, I've never seen a real person look good wearing eyeliner until today...it's tricker than you think to pull off and put on right!
Also, the bartender/barista rule came through for me. Explicated, it's basically the premise that a well-made fancy espresso drink at 8 am is infinitely more valuable and necessary than an uncapped beer bottle at midnight. Yet no one would ever tip a bartender less than a buck. So I tip my baristas a buck. (but never at starbucks!)
This morning I had no cash, and explained to the girl working (one of the regular coffeekids that I don't even need to give my drink request to, just if I want it hot or iced) that "I only have about two bucks in coin and eight stamps on my coffee card," and she took the card and told me I had ten stamps.
So I just threw my handful of quarters and nickels into the tip jar.
