Chapter 15
“Yamada Ryosuke... H-Hisashiburi.”
Right at that moment, Ryosuke just wanted to close his eyes and then wake up to a scary dream.
It was crazy how fate could play tricks on people and Ryosuke felt the need to just curse fate with what is happening with him right now.
There then was the girl who he fell in love with so bad that made him be Yamada Ryosuke the Player... And in front of him was the girl he now loves, who made him change for the better.
Two girls who he fell in love with... It was just ironic how the two of them changed him in two ways differently... And what's more crazy is that now he realized that those two girls are actually siblings.
“Mariya...” he said in a whisper. He smirked as he looked at the girl who had a beauty that everyone is envious of. She still had that charm and elegance that made Ryosuke fall for her.
The girl smiled as she bowed her head gently, trying to cover the sadness that was so obvious in her eyes. She was Ryosuke's first love, and he was hers as well. They had a love so sweet and so magical that the moment it ended, it felt like her heart stopped with it, too.
She had to admit that it was her fault that she lost a perfect guy and a perfect love, and heaven knows how she regretted the decision she made. If only time would go back, she would have never left him.
“Ryosuke...” a bitter smile crept into her lips and it literally took all her utmost effort to prevent herself from crying.
It took about a couple of seconds for her to compose herself, and as she lifted up her head to face her past lover, no trace of pain can be seen in her face. It was a mask she had tried so hard to perfect, an act she had long practiced to flawlessness.
“I missed you.” her voice was soft and sweet and it was like a music to everybody’s ear, except to Ryosuke and Miyu.
Ryosuke felt Miyu tensed the moment she heard Mariya's voice. And with one look, he knew that she was upset.
“Hey...” he touched Miyu's face and made her look up to him. Then he smiled and held her hand gently.
“Who is she?” Miyu asked, her voice clearly cracking.
“She's...”
“I'm your sister. Don't you recognize me, Mirai-chan?” Mariya asked as she walked closer to them. Her eyes were full of worry as she looked at her and searched her face.
“Sister? You? But... I... don't remember you at all...” Miyu slightly backed away as she held her head which was already throbbing.
“Mirai-chan...”
“Miyu?”
Both Ryosuke and Mariya turned to look at each other. She looked curious as to what Ryosuke had called her sister, and he in turn was worried as to what will happen to Miyu.
“I really don't... remember...”
“Mirai-chan... I'm your onee-san~ Mariya-nee... Please... Please remember. We miss you. Dad misses you as well.” Mariya said as she walked towards the scared-looking Miyu and pulled her to a hug.
“Dad...?”
As if it was on cue, Miyu's head felt so painful like it was being hammered. She then saw images of places and images of people that seemed familiar.
“You should act like your sister! Act like a real Shida!”
“You should do better, Mirai! Why can't you just be like Mariya?!”
“It's because of you that your mother died! At least make yourself useful!”
“Dad...? Mariya? Shida? This is all... This is all very confusing! I don't remember anything! And I don't even want to remember! Let go of me!” Miyu pushed Mariya away from her and held her head. She was getting really dizzy and it felt like she was walking on a water bed, she felt like everything was turning.
“I don't want... to remember...” she said as she looked back at Ryosuke who was mouthing something that she couldn't hear. And before Ryosuke could even reach her outstretched hand, she already fainted.

“What's wrong with her? Is she gonna be okay?” Ryosuke's voice could be heard even outside the hospital room. He looked totally stressed out and Chinen Yuri was even having a hard time trying to get his bestfriend to calm down.
Mariya was also inside the room looking much worried as well. She was sitting beside Yuto who was holding her hand, trying to ease her.
Suzuka and Umika were also inside the room waiting for what the doctor would say.
“Tell me what's wrong, damn it!” Ryosuke shouted making everybody in the room turn to him.
“Yama-chan... calm down.” Chinen tried to pull him to sit but he just shrugged him off and stared at the doctor.
“We don't know yet... Unless she wakes up, we won't know if her memories are back or not. But according to the tests that were done, there are no internal injuries and her CT Scan was also normal...”
“They why isn't she waking up yet?! Oh come on! What are you doctors being paid for!”
“Will you just shut up, Yamada Ryosuke?! You're not even helping with your whining!” Yuto spoke as he glared at the angered Ryosuke.
Ryosuke was about to speak up again when Mariya stood up and said,
“Please Ryosuke... just calm down. We're all worried about Mirai--”
“Miyu... her name is Miyu. She's... She's--”
“She's my sister, Ryosuke. And her name is Mirai. She's Shida Mirai. You know, I really don't care what you're trying to do but I want you to know that I'm going to take her back. I'm going to take my sister back home with me.”
“What if she doesn't want to go back with you?! Mariya, why do you have to do this?! Why do you have to take her away from me?”
Ryosuke looked so scared and so desperate that it was almost heartbreaking seeing him like that. It was the first time Mariya saw that side of him. He used to be cheery and very confident. He was also very kind and calm, but this time he was really different. He looked so scared of the fact that he might lose Mirai... or Miyu. He looked so deeply attached to her, so in love... that with every look he gives her shows so much love.
And Mariya felt jealous. It should have been her who he can't keep his eyes off. It should have been her who he worries most. It should have been her who he cares for and it should have been her who he loves deeply... But now, it was her sister.
She loves her sister so much that she's willing to give up everything for her... but Ryosuke? The pain of losing him all came back to haunt her, and she thought that maybe it was her karma.
“Doctor... Thank you for everything. If anything happens, we'll call for you immediately.” Mariya said and smiled at the doctor, the latter then excused himself politely. Mariya then turned to Yuto and motioned for him to lead the others out,
“I'll just need some time to talk with him...” she said softly. Yuto understood what she meant so he asked everyone, except Ryosuke, to step out of the room for a while.
When everyone was gone, Ryosuke stared at Mariya. He looked at the girl and saw beauty beyond compare. Then he turned his gaze on Miyu... and a smile slowly appeared on his face.
Miyu might not be as appealing as her sister in first glance, but she has that beauty that was angelic and almost heavenly. It was like magic every time he gets to look at her, see her, and stare at her. Her beauty was and has always been calming and she would always make her heart stop just with a simple smile.
“Ryosuke...” his smile faded as soon as he heard her voice. He frowned at her and waited for her to continue whatever it was that she wanted to say...
“How are you?” she said softly, as if still trying to find words to say to him. She was looking worried and in doubt of how she should approach him.
“What do you think? How do I look like to you?” he laughed bitterly and looked at her with eyes full of anger.
“Listen, I don't know what happened or how everything came to be like how it is now but... But Mariya, all I'm concerned of is Miyu. She's all I can think of right now. And I'm--”
“If you want to get back to me at what I did to you before, please leave Mirai out of this. Please leave my sister alone...”
“What?!” Ryosuke couldn't believe what he heard, he felt sick. Mariya thinks that he's just using Miyu to take a revenge on her.
“Ryosuke... I know you're still mad about what happened to us before but--”
“You're crazy. So, you're thinking that I'm just trying to get back at you by making Miyu fall for me? Is that what you're insinuating, huh Mariya?” Ryosuke came closer to where Mariya was and looked at her with disgust.
“Is that how you see me? I admit that I'm so mad at you for leaving me before that I took revenge on every girl I met. I made them fall for me and then leave me like what you did to me. I played with them like how you played with me--”
*SLAP*
Ryosuke was shocked with the sudden pain he felt on his cheeks. Mariya slapped him hard, and when he looked at her, her eyes were already full of tears.
“I loved you. I loved you so much, Ryo... Didn't you feel it back then? Didn't you see it? I didn't play with your emotions or anything like that... And I didn't want to leave you then. I just had to, I had to choose my family over you... Because if I didn't, my Dad will disown me. I thought you'd understand, I thought...”
“You thought wrong. I didn't understand because you didn't make me understand. You just left me without even caring to tell me what was wrong. But you know what? It doesn't really matter now... Because all that matters to me now is Miyu. I lo--”
Ryosuke wasn't able to continue what he was saying when Mariya suddenly jumped to hug him tight.
“I still love you, Ryo... And I know that you still have feelings for me. Please... Take me back.”
Slowly Mariya released him from her embrace and touched his face gently like how she did back then. And Ryosuke could see in her eyes the same emotions she had when they were still together before.
“I love you...”
Mariya was about to close the gap between their faces when they heard something break. Turning back in shock, they saw Miyu or Mirai rather looking blankly at them.
“Miyu...!” without saying anything else, Ryosuke pushed Mariya away and quickly ran towards Miyu's side.
“How are you feeling?!” Ryosuke held her hand and smiled sweetly at her.
“I'm sorry about the vase... My head is still hurting. I guess I still need to rest.” Miyu glanced at Mariya meaningfully before saying,
“Can you please leave me alone for now?” and then she pulled her hand from Ryosuke's before lying down in the hospital bed again.
“Miyu...” and all Ryosuke could do was look at Miyu sadly before leaving the room with Mariya following her close behind.
