"No Willow, I see no problem with you helping Lorne as long as Jenny and Tara are there to help you. You have great power Willow, but you need to be careful."
I carefully hung the phone back up on it's cradle before going back to the work I had spread over my desk before Miss Rosenberg's call. I had found a building to serve as the headquarters for the new Watcher's Council, but I was having trouble convincing the remaining council members to help with the funds. They wanted it set up in England again. Much as I love my home country, I couldn't leave Buffy and the girls. Especially after that bringer attack. No, it had to be here.
I went back to writing more letters to Council Alumni. I didn't want to ask Angel and Wolfram & Hart for the start-up money, (I would perfer to distance myself as much as possible from his company) but I would if need be.
My pen skidded off the paper as the telephone rang loudly again. "Bloody Hell." Throwing the now ruined letter away, I reached over to pick up the reciever.
Drumming my fingers on my desk nervously, I waited for Giles to pick up the phone. At first I’d gotten some assistant and it taken me quite a while to convince the twit that Giles had asked me to call back. How very traditional to get one of those dragonders to man the phones again. I seriously hope I can avoid one of those. I wonder if I can take Jennifer with me. She’d do an excellent job and I’d be doing her a favor of getting her out of here

I blinked rapidly as I heard nothing but female giggling on the other end of the line. One of the potentials perhaps? Was this one of those "prank" phone calls? It was then that I heard a distinctly British voice say something on the other end. Alicia? "Hello?" I queried

Taking a deep breath, I glared at the girls as they giggled at me. Alicia shook her head and turned back to her work, while Marilee snuggled up a little closer to me. “He swounds just wike you,” she announced in that soft voice of her.
I blinked and stared down at her amused. “Yes, I suppose he does,” I said, “But it’s not polite to listen in on conversations, sweetheart.” She shrugged at me as if to indicate that she couldn’t really help it because she was so close by. And just when in the hell had I learned to see an entire meaning in just one tiny shrug? Frightening.
“Oh! Uh, yes, I’m sorry about that,” I said sheepishly when I remembered that I was actually talking to Giles on the phone. “Jennifer? Oh yes, she’s very good at her job, I’ll have to say that.” I’ll miss her when - if - I leave here. I’d better talk to Angel to make certain she gets a very good replacement job. Or maybe she can work for my replacement, since she knows everything already
