hello world,
Oops, sorry i haven't written for a long time. I just didn't feel like it I guess. I'm doing well. Here's a general update of important factors in my life right now:
Housing: I am now living off campus in Kalamazoo for the first time. I reallllllly like being off campus. I'm cooking good food. Besides the fact that the house has several critical flaws (one bedroom violates the firecode, the dryer is broken, windows are broken, there's a hole in the kitchen floor etc) I'm happy with things.
Transportation: At first I was stoked to have a car on campus, but now I hate it. My car is a peice of SHIIIIIIIIT (said in the voice of the adam sandler song). It's broken down twice and I had to get it towed once. I bet the damn thing isn't even gonna start in the winter. I don't even want a car. I just want to take public transportation for the rest of my life. I'm serious.
SIP (senior thesis): Don't even wanna talk about. Ugh. Barf.
Teach for America and other employment ideas: I have applied to Teach for America. I find out this Friday if I am accepted for a phone interview. I think I would be a good teacher. I'm especially interested in the ESL/Bilingual teaching positions. I'm up for the challange and belive in TFA's cause. I'm also very open to many different I'm very excited/anxious about this whole thing. But knowing the reality that only 12% of applicants are accepted, I'm trying not to put all my eggs in one basket (although it might be too late for that). Anyways, if I don't get TFA I will apply to work with Witness for Peace, BorderLinks, and my high school has a job opening for a Community Service Director that I fit the qualifications for. So, I'm just gonna keep thinking positivly no matter what happens, even though I really wanna do TFA.
Mexico: I'm going to Mexico to visit Dorothy and Claudia in December. SOOOOOO EXCITED.
Ok, this entry is going to get cut short because I'm going to an ISO meeting.
loooooooooooove,
becca
