my first movie premier

I did end up working for David on the Dark Knight premier. The whole thing went extremely well and everyone was super impressed with how professional and competent David was. It was actually quite a turn on to see him in a position of authority with everyone looking to him for answers.

I met Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard, very famous composers who have many many movie credits to their name. My whole job (along with Amanda) was to make sure that the musicians didn't die trying to exit the stage area. It was dark and they had to go down a long, high ramp. I held a flashlight and followed them around. Honestly I felt kind of superfluous, but I guess if something went wrong they'd ask why someone wasn't there to help. My role was to give some rich producer typer people peace of mind. I was last in line of a long list of people that said "make sure they're ok." It was really easy, and really fun. I got to talk to the musicians and the union crew, oh and I went down to Time's Square to pick up some drumsticks for the taiko drum, and I took care of the pizza order for dinner. Before the performance I went downstairs to watch the hubub of the press out front. I got to talk to the guys who were responsible for transporting the Bat vehicles to different venues. They were cool, and very attractive.  I didn't see any of the cast because I was probably backstage before they came in, but I saw Danny Devito leaving the theatre after the show. A bunch of women started freaking out and screaming and trying to take pictures with him.....and all I could think was 'I would never want to be famous, how does he deal with that bullshit.'

After the performance of a piece from the soundtrack I got to go out front and watch the movie, in IMAX! It was great! Very dark and quite disturbing. The Joker was terrifying and I thought Heath Ledger was amazing in the part.

David certainly made a good impression and there were hints of future work that sounds exciting.
Overall an exciting couple of days and I'm happy David could get me on the gig. I'm very proud of him.
