Those pesky service call windows

So.. you know how when you need a service call for your phone, cable, etc, and they give you those "windows" of like 4-5 hours when they will arrrive. I wonder, as I enter hour 3 of my 12-4 pm "window" of waiting for the heating service guys, if anyone has EVER had one of those dudes (or dudettes) arrive within the 1st hour. Actually, if you tell them you'll be gone for an hour and be right back, they'll stop by while you're gone, say you weren't there, and force you to reschedule for another day, and possibly charge you for time. "Well, we were there at 4:30."
Oh, and they probably won't ring the doorbell or knock, either. You're just supposed to keep watching the window.
I guarantee they'll show up if you say you'll be out for a couple hours and to come by at around 5:30 or whatever.
