"H-Huh...?"
Glancing at her roommate in confusion, Tohru's brows creased. Something felt wrong...it was off. Kyou's words didn't make sense. Despite the fact that she wasn't comfortable turning to deep conversation with him yet, what he'd said had surprised her enough to form a reaction.
"What...Kyou-kun...what are you talking about? Talking like...it's always been like this, since we came here. Are you still....sleepy?"

"I...don't know," Kyou said, frowning and he slid up onto the counter next to her. Grabbing the bowl of vegetables to inspect it for onions, he immediately noticed the lack of them, which he found strange. Kyoko often made Tohru cook them for dinner and 'forget' to inform her that he was coming, for some reason she found his complete disgust of them amusing. "I...don't remember coming here. Shishou hasn't had me stay here in years...it's weird. I guess he hadn't wanted to sit through another of that woman's riot acts. God was she pissed when I busted down that door..."

Feeling concerned, Tohru was definitely confused now. Kyou wasn't making any sense. Really...was he still half asleep? He seemed more than alart however...even stealing the bowl of vegetables from beneath her.
He's acting like..the past week never even happened.
A little hesitant, she glanced at him uncertainly...before tentatively reaching forward to put the back of her hand to his forehead. Maybe a fever...? It didn't feel like it though.
"I...don't really understand what you are talking about, Kyou-kun..."

"You could forget? We were like...ten, I think." Kyou laughed, plucking a snap pea from the bowl and tossing it in his mouth before continuing. "Shishou had just shown me how to break wood, so...I wanted to show off. Your mom got so mad when I used your bedroom door to prove that I could do it."
"Though part of me thinks she was just mad cause she was at work still and missed getting to see it," he continued, pulling four more snap peas from the vegetables before handling the bowl back to her.

"But Kyou-kun....there's no way that..." By the time she had first met Kyou....Kyoko Honda had already been four months dead. What could possibly have made him--
"AH!" Feeling stupid that it had taken her even this long, Tohru's head cleared. The city... In general, it was always her. This time it seemed that the tables were turned. "Kyou-kun, you're cursed!"

He'd always been extra careful about his curse around Tohru and Kyoko, which hadn't been easy--especially with Kyoko. All too often that woman had tried to catch him off guard and attack him when he wasn't paying attention. It had been a decade and unbelievably he'd successfully managed to avoid transforming in front of either of them.
"Anyway, I want to get a run in before school this morning," he said, a little wary of the sudden suspicion she'd voiced. Choosing to put a little distance between them, Kyou gave her a quick smile as he headed for the door. "I'll be back in time for breakfast though, so don't let Kyoko worry too much."
And with that, he slipped out of the kitchen.
