Cold, but productive

Well, I'm still freezing- it was down below 0 degrees last night. I dislike snow. Mostly I dislike being unable to get out and do something. Also, if dogs can't go out they amuse themselves by tormenting the cat and trying to get our attention.

However, being stuck in the house has been productive. I've been making steampunk accessories and have opened an Etsy store. If you'd like to see some of my stuff, go to www.Etsy.com. Then look under sellers for Otherwhen Oddities.

I started having this obsession with Gears last May. I was trapped in the house while my entire plumbing system was torn up. For 4 days during hailstorms and tornadoes I had the dogs trapped in the house with me while Beloved Husband was working out of town. Dogs were chasing the poor kitteh who was new to the house at the time. It was either make something or glue the animals to the ceiling. I opted to put gears on things. So I started making hats and hair picks and feather picks and chokers and garters and jewelry and...well it's become a huge obsession.

So, it keeps me busy doing the artwork. I'm also dieting- can't leave, so we decided we'd try to learn portion control and eating more healthy choices. Since both Beloved Husband and I are on the diet, it's not as difficult. And I'm not smoking. That may all change when I can get out again, but for now, I'm being terribly responsible.

BTW- I'll be at ConDFW in Dallas next weekend. I'll be a panelist and I will have quite a few things in the art show. Please come see me.

If you are on FB, you can look at pictures of some of my work there.
